Real Estate / Agent / Management charges in Warsaw, Poland [6]

There is a two possibility.
The first one is of course -equal 1 monthly rent + 22% VAT.
The second is 7-10% of each month rent, which is going to be for entire period of renting. But that does not mean or obligate the real estate agency to provide management services.

Food / Polish (but can be just any other) recipes for chicken dishes anyone? [23]

Fourty cloves garlic chicken

It's one of my favorite way to prepare chicken...easy ans really delicious..

1 chicken, cut in 8 pieces
olive oil
kosher salt, fresh ground black pepper
2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
40 cloves garlic unpeeled.
Preheat oven to 170 C/350 F
Wash the poltury, cut into 8 pieces. Pour some olive oil over, sprinkle generously kosher salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well. Transfer chicken to ovenproof baking dish. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar, add unpeeled garlic, cover with aluminium foil and bake about 45 min. Remove foil and bake next 45 min or till chicken is golden brown, basting at times with juices.

Transfer chicken to a big plate. Peel the garic and smash it with fork. Add juices from the chicken and make consistence like paste....if need, add a little water. Use the brush to spread garlic paste over chicken. Enjoy :)

Life / I'm engaged to a girl from Poland. Moving to Poland from the US. [28]

Unfortunately, cooks dont make much here either, but for some crazy reason I've chosen this as my profession, and I love it.

Do what makes you happy! You can find good job as a chef, but will need a little time...and of course you must learn polish language. On the begining could be tough for you but don't give up ! Good luck !:)

USA, Canada / COST OF PHONE CALLS from Warsaw to USA? [12]

Much easy and cheap is simply to buy a phone card. Go to the post office, there is plenty of different phone cards. For example, I always buy Tele Groszik- 60 min call to USA cost only 10 PLN. But you must call from home or some stationary number.

I have Live Box but never use because is too expensive. With phone cards I pre paid and not worry about my bill. Of course there is also Skype,Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger

Love / moving to poland to be together is this the right decision? [67]

[quote=goodlady]he has said he his family may consider my independence strange. because i lead a cosmopolitan lifestyle and have done for many years-he comes from a rural low paced lifesyle and he is the one that has broken free from this and his family are worried he will move to england permeantly.[/quote

Wait a sec...we live in XXI Century in Poland- Central Europe not Iran or Sudan..
Your man should be proud of you that you are an independant person...I just don't get it...Take your time and trust your intuition...Good luck:)

News / What does Poland mean to you? [66]

The current hoard of Polish imports have come over to bleed the UK dry for good wages, benefits, health care etc.. because they lack the backbone, courage and character of true Poles as they were..if you love Poland... go and work there and try to turn the country into something wonderful.. dont run away just because it makes your life easier!!

I guess you must be very angry or "high" when wrote such nonsens.. I guess your parents are very high educated people and proud of you...ha ha!

You've better read over and over again what Kilkline said above, because he is right...

Poland means for me:
-thousand lakes-Mazury
-good food, not the best but really yummy
-cold weather

Real Estate / Polish Real Estate Licence [6]

dont see anything there related to real estate.

Yes, is it related ( I didn't know too)
If you are not Polish citizen and apply for some license or diploma,( for exm. doctor, real estate agent, building administrator and much more) you will need first to have this certificate. If you need exact information you can call there and they will explain everything.

I will try to find the link and post it .
Have a nice day:)

Life / Who has moved to Poland in the last year? Swap stories. [115]

Reverse culture shock is generally tougher than culture shock as noted. Australia isn't standing still waiting for me while I am away!

Yes, life goes on. Unfortunately I can't turn back time. It took me a while to realize that one part of my life is gone and I MUST watch in future.

Now I try to make new friendships, work, continue my education...I hope some day will wake up and say to myself " Hell, yes...I am happy:)"

Love / BLACK GUYS POLISH WOMEN [809]

I'm black, any white supremacist will vouch for that and hunt my @ss down, not all black people have the same skin tone, same for white people

Once I was listening Michael Basden's radio show " Love,Lust and Lies" and some girl called and said that her sisters are extremely jealous of her because she is light skinned...Then first time I heard what does mean "yellow @ss" .

What I've learn over there is that you never should judge people based on their nationality, race or religion. ...I have met wonderful people who helped me a lot and we are great friends-they are Jews, my best gf is from Columbia, hubby is Polish guy...Important is what kind person is, not where is coming from!

Going to bed ...Monday is coming...AGAIN!!:(

Love / BLACK GUYS POLISH WOMEN [809]

Hmmm...I have to say that I am surprised of what you said. No matter where you live, people always starring at interracial couples...I lived in NJ and had very good friend who was African-american..Whenever we hung out for lunch or just walk and talking, people was starring at us( of course not like here but u could not it). We discus many times why is that...For me was really strange because there live people from all nations and no one should act like that...I will always remember when once we were walking down the street and there was some construction workers...they stopped working and watching at us. It made me feel weird, but later just was laughing with it....I also note, that black women can't stand when some hot "bro" is hanging out with white girl....LOL...It's just a life darling and don't take it personal :)

-Long faces, people never smile..:(
-driving like crazy,yelling

-cold weather, always windy..
Well, but my husband feel happy...so, that's the most important..I guess will take me long time to be on "phase three and four" as Andy said.

Real Estate / Polish Real Estate Licence [6]

Hey Brecik...
I am from Bulgaria but have a permanent resident card ( hubby is a Polish guy). It's very difficult to obtain a real estate license right now. I agree with Mash, it's taking a long time to make it. Here in Gdansk I attended 3 months class, then practice 6 month, then apply to Ministry of Infrastructure to qualification to Government writing test... As a foreign I had to additional pass Government test Polish as a second language-master level. For more information you can check here...buwiwm.edu.pl/. I did past writing test which was unbelievable difficult but couldn't pass verbal test and end of the year I will have second and maybe last chance to make it.

Beginning of January 1 2008 only people with High education could obtain of real estate license.Right now are different rules, you will not have to go to Goverment tests etc...

I work as real estate agent in Gdansk and speak fluently Polish language but with a little accent. The accent make my work difficult at times, people don't trust foreigners.. It;s very interesting job and I like it, but I have to put twice more work to be on the same level as my coworkers...Every day is something different.LOL:)

Pozdrawiam!

Real Estate / Can non EU citizen's buy real estate in Poland? [10]

Hi...you really do not need to be a resident to buy an apartment, only in case you are buying as a "second house"-which means you already have a property in Poland and buyng second apt. for rental..
