COST OF PHONE CALLS from Warsaw to USA?

Does anybody know how much does it cost per minute calling from WAW to USA from a local landline?

It cost alot. I have the live box through TP and it cost 12 grosz a min. When I called from a land phone without it cost me 115zl. for 58 min. but it depends on time I guess too. It differs.

We use a company called WDT for our long distance from the states to Poland and they have a service where you can designate a number in Poland and the calls from that number to you will be discounted. You can refer to their website mywdt.com

If you got your landline with TP then just call 9393 and order it.I hope you speak Polish. Someone will come to the house with it and hook it up to you computer and you will have a second phone line with a diff. # from your landline,then DHL delivers the contract to you and you sign it and wait until the line starts working. This process will take a time. I'm guessing max 2 weeks or you can go to one of the TP points and it will go quicker.

Lots of Polish people swear by Skype. I personally don't like it but a lot of my husband's relatives use it.

Much easy and cheap is simply to buy a phone card. Go to the post office, there is plenty of different phone cards. For example, I always buy Tele Groszik- 60 min call to USA cost only 10 PLN. But you must call from home or some stationary number.

I have Live Box but never use because is too expensive. With phone cards I pre paid and not worry about my bill. Of course there is also Skype,Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger

If 12 gr. min. to the USA is expensive then I don't know whats cheap. The Tele -Grosik card from the post office seem to be more expensive to me. I think it's 60 or 65 gr. a min. I called my parents on the live box for almost 2 hrs. and paid a little over 12 zl. I consider that cheap. Live box is only expensive when you don't use it. It cost 10 zl. but if you sign a long term contract it will cost 1 zl. for the first six months and then 10 zl. a month.

You just hook a regular phone to the box. It's not Voip, it's internet phone connection. The quality is fine.
