Language / What is the most annoying thing about non-native Polish speakers? [90]

I've known alot of Poles that can't pronounce the word "the" using the "th" with their tongue or "Ibiza" (Ib-eetha.) Alot tend to use "ver" or "da."

There's alot of English words Poles can't pronounce correctly and there's alot of Polish words that English people can't pronounce properly.

Love / Don't Polish men fall for British women? [57]

She's English.

I hate this 3rd Dutch, Quarter Spanish, or half French. Born in England = English.
The majority of British have foreign blood in us. The vast majority of us have ancestors that emigrated to the UK somewhere down the line. I have Eastern European blood in me.. but I'm ENGLISH. My nan has Irish blood in her...but she's ENGLISH.

UK, Ireland / Polak moving to north-west England [56]

That's right.

I don't care what anybody thinks, I'll tell you the truth, I don't like blacks and I don't like Pakis. I don't mind hindus and Sikhs, chinks and Japs, they're ok but as for the rest...nah I haven't got time for them.

UK, Ireland / Polak moving to north-west England [56]

I'd advise Kirkham or Wesham... a friendly white town with 2 big cities on the left and right of it. No crime, nothing. I love it :)

UK, Ireland / Polish teenager murdered after arriving in UK [117]

Leeds is a complete s--hole. Seriously you Poles really need to do some research on the places you're moving to before making the move. There are some places in the UK that are just like the Bronx, full of crime, drugs etc. There are some places where Britons will not accept foreigners in their town and will force them to move. There are also places, such as where I now live, where this sort of crime is unheard of. Where people will greet you in the street despite not knowing you. Peaceful, fun, loads of things to do. Great places and safe environment to bring up children. Picture perfect. You just need to look for those places. Kirkham or Wesham I could recommend you. There are also a few towns in Wiltshire such as Salisbury and Amesbury. These are places I live/lived and would highly recommend to look out for when making the move.

Law / Poland -One of the fastest growing economies [28]

This is all due to the European Union. The Republic of Ireland went through this and they benefited hugely from joining the EU. The economic growth will eventually steady itself once they've caught up with the rest of Europe.

Love / Online dating sites (opinions)? [26]

Why pay for a dating site when you have plentyoffish.com for free?

I used to meet girls off the internet every weekend a few years ago. Most of my ex girlfriends I had met in my old city of Nottingham from the internet. Me and my mate used to do it for fun. It's the nervousness of meeting someone I didn't know that made it exciting and enjoyable. I miss those days!

Food / Polish food is making me fat [49]

Negative Evolution.

Hey I look great for it so I have no problems with it. If you want a decent figure then eat exactly what I eat mate and you'll be there..! If I was told I can eat anything I like now I'd stick with my diet. I'd stick with my vegetables and stick with being a vegan. I'm very health conscious and I care about my appearance.

Love / Do Polish women like to be surprised? [35]

What is it with "do Polish women this, do Polish women that lol?" Polish women are WOMEN. They're the same as every other women. They go through mentruation whether they're Polish or not. They have have vaginas whether they're Polish or not. They nag whether they're Polish or not :P

Women are women regardless of nationality.

Love / Will he have an affair with me? [17]

Why can't you just ask him out? Just tell him "we should go out for a drink sometime, are you up for it?"

I wouldn't advise it though. You could create enemies.

Life / Do Polish people respect other cultures? [96]

I don't mind Aussies. They're just another country of Brits. The Scottish have more of a problem with the English than the Aussies do. I've met a few Aussies, not many but a few and they were decent. They love our accents ..

The Scottish however, they're fine in English territory. They have nothing against you, they have no problem with the English but in Scottish territory they despise the English. I went to Scotland, Dunfirmline and watched England play someone, I can't remember, it was in 2001. I got my England shirt on and buggered off to the pub. I was only 16 and I got some disgusting looks. My workmate told me to nip home and change my shirt just to be on the safe side.

I can't stand the Scottish anti-English mentality. It's sick. The only decent Scots are friggin Rangers fans due to their unionism.

Life / What do Polish people think of burning the national flags? [58]

I think it is a fun activity to enjoyed by all! It's the most pure expression of our freedom of expression! =D They currently want to ban it in the good ol Nazi USA! If they do I am gonna keep burning flags til i get arrested and appeal it in court!

Flag burning is disgusting. Anyone that bans their own country's flag should be charged with treason.

Love / 5 ways to intimidate/ turn off a Polish or non-Polish men;) [93]

I don't hear it here in Preston/Blackpool that much but I picked it up from Nottingham which is the East Midlands.

"She's a right minger"
"That's f-ing minging"
"Ewww that mings" < I don't use that one.

The word "rancid" is also a commonly used word which means the same as minging.

UK, Ireland / How to avoid bad tension in workplace Pole in UK/Ireland [18]

right, all depends probably what skills you've got and workplace where u have to work ( funny innit :) ). Im sociologist with good grasp of anthropology and social science but ( there is always but ...) without proper english, ( :( ) so my knowledge is useless here.
I work in ordinady place with ordinary people ( what a shame :)?! )
Any clue why I am so disrespectfull for my workmates ( they dont know about my Degree of Master of Art but they see me on lunch time with a thick book, all the time )?

I know it may sound stupid but SOME people look at people that cannot speak perfect English as "thick/dumb." SOME people will walk all over these people, they'll giggle, they'll put the blame on you. It's only a minority of people and funnily enough sometimes the area that you are working in is a big factor. The Polish in Nottingham will not get anything like that. Whereas in Blackpool Polish people, always the men not the women, will receive tension.

It's a minority of people in certain cities/towns of Britain. Your English DOES improve IF you are around English speaking people. You pick up on it quick. I used to speak to one Polish guy in Nottingham. He said I spoke too fast and he couldn't understand. Eventually after a few months, he got the grip of it. He mingled in WITH the English.

Love / Polish men: conservative and structured? [12]

Are polish men as conservative and structured as they look?

Just drop your knickers and if you don't get a positive response then they're gay.
