UK, Ireland / Polish parents hang themselves at their Lincoln, UK home [66]

RIP,

It's very sad, but what they went through with the work situation is affecting a lot of people, work is not as plentiful and the situation is getting worse.

My heart goes out to the family and I dont think that anyone has the right to judge these people.

Life / Indian moved to Poland [532]

You will be surprised to know how many poles are well qualified. Fortunately most are abroad (in terms of a job search). Eliminates competition

First off why surprised? Poland isn't a developing country!!! Also you will be surprised how many Polish people are now moving back to Poland with further skills learnt in a variety of different European countries...looks like you're completely wrong about the competition!!!!

Love / About Personal Problems (English / Polish relationships) [32]

Its probably down to culture differences,

So it's okay for Polish men who work abroad to cheat? In fact not only cheat but to form full blown relationships with women who they lie about their marrital stastus to.... Please dont give me that sh!te about cultural differences because it's complete and utter bollox.

Most of the problems seem to occur in English-English relationships but nobody really talks about it and maybe by posting on a forum people like to try and find another reason for a relationship failing rather than just incompatibility?

News Flash! Most of the women posting here are English and are being cheated on by Polish men!

I'm actually trying to be objective with these kind of posts since I was so horrible to one poster and actually regretted being such a c.u.n.t. towards her. We are just a sounding board and some people just want answers and dont care where they get them from....But wouldn't it be easier to speak to a close friend?

UK, Ireland / UK bus company boss jailed for hiring an incompetent Pole [71]

I'm not. But I would like to know if the cherry picker arm swung in front of the bus.

No, it was stationary at the time, the bus was a double decker and hit the cherry picker as pointed out the sun visor in the drivers cab obscured his vision and he didnt see the cherrypicker.

Polanglik

An employee also has legal obligations to uphold with regards to H&S.

Travel / How Can I Not be the "Ugly American" Tourist in Poland? [97]

I think with SOME Americans they seem to feel they are a cut above when their out of their homeland and want everybody around them to know they are American. I remember being at Heathrow airport a couple of years ago and this yank was complaining about not being able to take his overweight huge hand luggage onto the plane, shouting his head off. Everybody was like ohh just shut up you dick head.

The germans seem to like doing that aswell, theirs nothing like staying in a 4 star hotel in Wroclaw after a night on the beer with Germans running around the breakfast bar screeming at each other. If i had an Uzi, i'd hose emm.

It think it's really unfair to rubbish Mr R's thread and to slag off Americans, it wasnt too long ago that the British were all being slagged off -it's totally unfair. I also stayed in a 4* in hotel Wraclaw and didn't see any Germans running round!

You see? again attacking and accusing even innocent people like me..

Innocent?

Is there anything left on this planet which don't angers You gramma? You are just to frustrated and You need to consume more weeds to reduce this level of heat & hate inside You.

Lots of things on the planet please me actually. Not old enough to be a granny, try again! Weeds, yes they are quite bad in the garden at the moment since the weather has been bad and opportunities for gardening have been limited. The only things I hate are dirty TB and AIDS infected illiterate foreigners who come to the UK to leach and procreate!

Travel / anyone put the new shengen rules to the test? [30]

You see? the way she attacks people.. I told Ya before :D

So you're saying it's okay to break the law? Immigration laws are there for a reason, visas are there for a reason and to be quite honest it angers me that people think it's okay to flaunt the rules... - Im guessing you're some foreigner doing the same!

Thats a bit much even for you ShellyS, you seem to be constantly on the blob.

WB, the guy moans all the time about Poland and now moans that he cant stay longer because of laws in Europe....Amercians hate the fact that Mexicans pour into their country illegally yet he thinks it okay to do the same in Europe!

You're on a visa, you DON'T have the right to stay any longer than you are allowed! Quit b*tching! Schengen is to make it easy for Europeans to travel, not for fcuking whiny yanks to overstay their welcome!

UK, Ireland / Polish workers found hung in Herefordshire [51]

Must be someone trying to keep the there...

The "Shame" of failure... it's saddening that people come here to improve their lives and end up in such dire situations and taken advantage of at in a surprisingly large amount of these cases they are being taken advantage of people who are not British...

Life / Polish Driving Licence. [314]

To Harry, Alright smart Ass! tell me an alternative way... And everybody stop ************ around and get to the bottom line. License without effort or no license???

1) Legally living in a country.
2) If you dont have a driving license of any kind, get a provisional.
3) take some lessons.
4) take your written test.
5) wait for your instructor to put you in for your test.
6) take your test.
7) bingo you have a legal license.

If you already have a license then there are websites that can help you transfer your old license.

For all those scamming, Im glad you lost your money and I hope if you try it again, you get caught and go to court or better still if you are some illegal, you get kicked out with a stamp on your passport saying - "no entry allowed"!

UK, Ireland / UK bus company boss jailed for hiring an incompetent Pole [71]

But don't they have GPS navigation systems in Polish? They should do some kind of basic training to avert this danger.

'First' have a bus training school Lublin...

The bus company that NoIm was talking about was just plain dangerous, buses were unsafe and the drivers were not properly trained...it's the employers fault...

Just dress as you would at home, in general people just wear jeans and a t-shirt as for the bald head you'll be in good company, from what I can remember when I was in Krakow in the summer all the guys had shaved heads :) As always its good manners to take your hat off when entering a restaurant or bar and obviously a church :) Avoid wearing those rediculous "fanny bags" and a camera round your neck, like I said just do what you would normally at home.

HALF OF BRITS IN THE UK DON'T WORK

Maybe true, but how many of them are actually indiginous to the UK, it would seem anyone and everyone has a British passport these days.

[edit] Employment
White British have a lower self-employment rate and lower percent in managerial or professional occupations compared to all ethnic groups. White British are about 13% percent self-employed with Irish 16% percent self-employed. White British with 27% percent have a slightly lower percent of their population in managerial and professional positions compared to all ethnic groups. Among White British, Irish with about 35% have a greater percent of their population in managerial or professional positions.[4]

White people in the United Kingdom are the most employed and economically active among British. Indigenous Britons have the lowest unemployment rate among all ethnic groups in the United Kingdom. The census group White British have unemployment rates of about 4% percent with less unemployment for women. Smaller White ethnic groups who marked "Other White" have a slightly higher unemployment rate. [5] White British have the lowest rates of economic inactivity i.e. not working and/or not looking for work. White British have an economic inactiviy of 20% percent with higher rates for women. Among White British, the smaller White ethnic groups who marked "Other White" have a slightly higher economic inactiviy. [6]

Love / moving to poland to be together is this the right decision? [67]

- also i have thought maybe he is ashamed of his family?

They were my initial thoughts and I still think that, I don't think for one moment that he's ashamed of you. Go for the month and see how the land lies. By the sound of things you're not in any hurry to meet the parents so that's not an issue, not eveyone has that desire to meet the "in-laws", some people find that strange though, I didnt introduce my ex to my parents until we'd been together for 14 months, simply because I don't feel the need to take every Tom Dick or Harry home to meet the folkes!

Good luck.
