TWO Polish workers have been found dead at the premises of a fruit farm in Herefordshire.

Police were called to premises of S&A Davies, the strawberry growers at Brook Farm, Marden, Herefordshire, at 4.40am on Saturday when the body of a male was found.

Later that morning the body of another man was located at a different location on the site. Both men are believed to be Polish migrant workers.

Very sad.....Life is not easy for Poles in UK , but there must be other reasons for two guys to take their lives like this....Hard to believe there is no connection between the two deaths.....

Sadly true.

A horrible thing to happen. My condolences to their families and friends. Maybe just a strange and tragic coincidence, but who knows.

RIP

If I wanted to be pedantic (which I often do), I'd point out that hung is incorrect and it should say hanged.

I have seen a good few articles on poles comitting suicide. If the stress/situation is too much why dont they just go home.?

They dont have to kill themselves.

may they find something better if there is anything after this life.
hopefully their families will get to the bottom of this, one can only hope this effects some positive change somewhere down the line.

Very sad indeed. May be they couldn't even afford to raise enough money to return to Poland given the sometimes unbelievably little wages they're paid? Very traigc.

Ok no disrepect to the men who died and i'm sure its very very sad for their families and friends but really, everytime an immigrant dies, or in this case two, were going to have a topic so that we can write RIP. You must be joking, what makes these two so special, people die everyday all around the world. I'm sure more Polish nationals died today aswell as these two fruit pickers.

While i'm big on respect i do feel this is going a little to far

what makes these two so special

Because of the strange circumstances. I posted it because of a storey a few years ago about Polish fruit pickers living in "concentration camp" conditions in the south of England. I think it was Oxford. Maybe someone else can elaborate?

Edit

If I wanted to be pedantic (which I often do), I'd point out that hung is incorrect and it should say hanged.

I just checked it in my Cambridge dictionary and it can be either.

Going a little too far? really? Tornado whether 1 or many,a life lost is a life lost forever and worth expressing sincere sympathy. It may not mean much,or even anything, for example in your case but the tragic circumustances under which these men died warrants our sympathy. Besides,it's not like contributors on this forum have been banging on about it for months like you seem to imply? Have some true respect for the deceased and their families.

It's just a mark of respect. Yes, people die everyday, but these two deaths have been brought to the attention of the forum.

What would you suggest instead ?

What would you suggest instead ?

not starting a topic everytime some random Polaks die. I know it sounds cold but its true, you don't get news flashes every day listing all the people who have died since the last time the 10 o'clock news was on do you??

Fair enough if there is some sort of accident where there are multiple deaths and i'm talking more than one or two, or a natural disaster like an avalanche, tsunami etc etc but this, not in my view

HAs everyone else been looking at a different article? I don't see where it says that they committed suicide except "police are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths..." which means nothing. It's only been a couple of days, so I can't see how homicide can be ruled out so fast.

If they were hung (which I also don't see) , how can you know they haven't been lynched or sth. Yeah, can be an extreme way to think, but who knows the truth?

As this is a Polish forum, it's of interest to those who visit.

"Two Poles have hanged themselves at a strawberry plantation in Hertfordshire, England.

One of the workers hanged himself around 5 AM, Tuesday, the other approximately four hours later.

A representative of the plantation's owner claims there is no connection between the two deaths. The local police are of the same opinion, but Polish strawberry pickers employed at the plantation think otherwise."

I see now, but it's too early to rule out foul play.

I've no idea, but it must be of some interest to those who work here in the UK.

If you were working abroad, wouldn't you want to know stuff like this ?

The fact that two Poles died in the same location on the same day makes it unusual.

I was simply saying that foul play shouldn't / couldn't be ruled out within a day or two. You just like to troll for an arguement. So, I agreed. We'll leave it at that.
