Life / Have always longed to live abroad, so I'm Moving To Poland [10]

Is it really that easy to do a simple course

its important to be aware that anything other than a full cert course - normally 120 hours with not less than 6 hrs teaching practice - is not considered much cop in most of europe including poland

this includes weekend courses and online courses

Life / Where can i buy a good car at a worth price in Poland? [14]

12 tys is not a bad price without knowing the milage

i dont know a great deal about gas conversion except it seems to be popular - i like the idea of it in principle but dont feel overly comfortable driving on polish roads with a gas canister on board...

Love / Advice (preferably from women!) on stressed, depressed boyfriend [42]

i agree with wrong moves 1 & 2... but theres little point bolting the stable door after the horse has done a runner

so

my immediate reaction is to suggest not trying to convince him of anything... just show you are there to support him and help him through what must be a very difficult time for him.

if he really is suffering from depression then the chances are he is not thinking clearly and unsure what he is really feeling... taking the line of least resistance probably looks the best option for the time being, regardless of future outcomes

Law / "Difficult Customer" business in Poland [18]

you are right - i too have noticed an overall improvement in customer service since ten years ago but still get frustrated by the apparent lack of it at times, especially in sopot where there is such i high turnover of international visitors with higher expectations. during peak season this summer it was not unusual to be told in restaruants that the was a 45 minute waiting time for food... when the restaurant was far from full...

i also agree with your concern over cost effectiveness of training staff in some instances - but, again referring to restaurants, investing in customer service skills can have an near immeadiate economic return - both in tips for staff and repeat business for the restaurant owner

i think many consumers are unaware of their rights. when my partner an i have bought goods for our property renovation and they have turned out to be faulty, he has always been reluctant to go back and get a refund/exchange... but it wouldnt suprise me that as more poles return from the uk etc, and more international visitors come to poland, that things are going to have to change

Law / "Difficult Customer" business in Poland [18]

Please, let's not drag this out in fin T's thread.

its entirely related to topic - it seems that some posters think that difficult customers deserve a slap whilst others dont...

there will always be difficult cutomers, its the nature of the game - how they are dealt with is an important concern for a country such as poland which is slowly becoming customer oriented and understanding the benefits of customer service for both parties

the OPs idea is a good one - as are courses in customer relations and related services... there is a need for them

on a more personal note i think a lot of people deserve a slap... but that doesnt mean i go round slapping people...

Feedback / My Thoughts on this Forum and Moderators [71]

the bottomline is that both admin and the mods provide a fantastic service for us here which remains FREE and uncluttered with annoying adverts... and they largely go unthanked for it

Law / "Difficult Customer" business in Poland [18]

To be honest I think it was the right outcome. No need for someone to lose a job because of some a$$hole's comment.

i dont get it wroc - how can you condone physical assault on a customer - its outragous regardless of how much he might have deserved it

News / Poland 2007 Elections: PO Won, PIS second [232]

"The Kaczynskis spoke, and will doubtless continue to speak, for the hurts and resentments born of Poland’s tragic 20th-century history. The problem was that they often behaved as if that history was the exclusive property of their political party, and their belligerent, populist tone its only legitimate voice.

The grudges and suspicions they nurtured extended not just to ex-Communists, but to Germans of all generations, foreign business leaders, secularists, intellectuals, and on and on. They fostered a climate of accusation and suspicion that divided Poland from its natural European partners and alienated the more forward- and outward-looking younger generation."

these are the same grudges and suspicions that are displayed on this forum - lets hope that those who continue to hold them realise the harm they are doing to poland's present and future and allow the more forward and outward-looking of the younger generation lead poland into its deserved future.

ABi Ltd., Brent Council and the London Development Agency are currently launching a government sponsored project called CECS (Central European Community Support).

The project aims to provide free English courses for certain professions, Food and Hygiene courses and free business consulting for anyone thinking of self-employment.

what a wonderful opportunity - especially the business consulting
