Life / Haunted Homes in Poland [173]

I'm a ghost hunter and we investigate the paranormal haunted homes and cemeteries. One picture is taken at an old cemetery from the 1880's by a child's grave at night. We still aren't sure what that is but we believe it could be the spirit of the child or some entity. We did not see it with our eyes, it only came up on the camera. The other is taken at an old house where we believe children died. You can see an orb floating by the doorway.

Life / What is the position of Esperanto in Poland? [16]

especially if you speak English or a Latin-derived language

Right, esperanto is based on simplified latin and is very easy to learn that's why it's thought of as an international language, easy to learn by any nation.

Love / My girlfriend thinks she's pregnant! Pomocy!! [75]

Sorry, didn't mean to sound weird, just making a joke. I care for foster children and have my own and hate to think about people aborting innocent children. It's not their fault they were being conceived. People should be responsible for their actions. Even immature ones like you. Aborting and not wanting your own child... now that is weird.

Love / My Stupid Friend [40]

It's Ok for the wife to have girlfriends, but if it's a guy-friend, that causes friction. Same goes for husbands. If they have female friends, da wife don't like that.

Love / My girlfriend thinks she's pregnant! Pomocy!! [75]

if you DONT want the baby, waiting for her belly to grow is the stupidest thing you can possibly do

A good lesson: you are responsible for your actions.
I'll take the baby if you don't want it. It'll have a pony, a puppy, I'll teach it to play music, paint, someday this child of your will be famous. Wait and see. it will all work out.

Life / Halloween in Poland? [77]

Last night we had a mass in church and CCD students made saints out of pumpkins and brought them up to the altar. It was funny and people were laughing during mass. You would never see this in Poland. What is ironic, is that our priest is from Poland.

Love / hi ya, im stasha from chicago, in love with a man from warsaw ;) [37]

Yes, Miranda and Sapphire have good points. Normally after knowing someone for 2 years you should be able to know what's going on, if you want to share your future together or what other plans you might have. He could also have some psychological problems from the past which he needs to forget but can't.

Love / hi ya, im stasha from chicago, in love with a man from warsaw ;) [37]

im now in love with a polish man from warsaw

Did he come to Chicago two years ago? He might still be going through culture shock, getting used to the new country and sorting things out that's why he gets distant once in a while. And sometimes when involved in a new relationship, the mind goes crazy, you're so happy and too many thoughts at once so you need time to sort it all out.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

I don't hate anybody, but my so called "roommate" is Polish and she is a total BIOTCH. Demanding, threatening, no wonder she is an old maid

I've met some women like that in Poland. They cut their hair short then die it purple or some other weird color and complain about everything under the stars. You wouldn't want to get into ther path. She keeps her husband on a tight rope, if she even has one hahaha

Love / Men attitude towards women in the Polish culture [82]

Some guys, as well as women, like to get noticed by the opposite sex, it gives them encouragement and boosts up the ego. If you really like this guy you will either have to get used to this or have a talk with him so he understands that it bothers you.

It's not just Polish guys. It's just humans

Work / My Polish Teacher's attitude [19]

She as a teacher shouldn't be saying that and she needs to be told about it either by you (if you are brave enough) or by higher authority. It can also be an annonimous note to her stating that some people are offended by her speaking negatively about Romania.

Food / Horse Meat - popular in Poland? [36]

Horse meat is not eaten by the majority of Poles, but they do however butcher them if the horse is old and feed it to the dogs, since horse meat is cheaper than cow meat per pound. Lot of horses end up on the French tables.

Here in the US it is also frowned upon and it gets exported to Canada, where it's considered a delicacy by the French Canadians there.

Love / Advice (preferably from women!) on stressed, depressed boyfriend [42]

not every relationship works, but not every one fails
either.

True. It all depends on finding that perfect partner where you both understand each other, trust one another and are the best of friends. Then everything falls into place.

Marriage shouldn't be about arguing who should do this or that. Marriage should be happiness not hard and difficulties

Love / What to do, should I forget her? [14]

Forget about the barmaid! The sooner the better!!
She might look good but that's nothing. It takes years to really get to know a person. You are in a comfortable relationship, you know each other very well. Here you'll be dealing with an infatuation. You know nothing about her personality, her character, her thoughts. She's a barmaid. She smiles to a lot of guys. Do not jeopardize what you have and seek greener grass on the other side, because there's nothing there. It's not what you think it is, it's only your imagination and infatuation with a pretty smile that captivated your heart. Put all your effort in your current relationship, you will be happier.

USA, Canada / Green Card enquiry [5]

They don't say when Poland will be eligible again, but green cards are intended to provide an immigration opportunity for persons from countries other than the main source countries of immigration to the U.S. The law states that no diversity visas(green cards) shall be provided for "high admission" countries, that is, countries from which during the previous five years there were more than 55,000 immigrants in the Family-Sponsored and Employment-Based visa categories. The list of countries, which do not qualify for the Green Card Lottery, is subject to change from one year to the next.

Law / American in Poland...Schengen changes...help with residency. [5]

I know exactly what you mean. You get a different story every time. Hehe, I'm working on the approval of the Polish court as a Polish citizen to accept my US divorce. It is all messed up. Paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. And each time you have to wait a month or two.

USA, Canada / Polish and American people: the difference [20]

Polish people speak Polish :)
Most Poles are catholics.
They are less open than Americans, don't smile as much, keep to themselves, more serious about life, find a way to get to their goals
