Life / Is drinking water in Poland good? [96]

You go to a restaurant in Poland and you have to ask for water. In the US first thing they do it bring ice cold water.

In Poland mineral water is very popular and it's good, but in US it's rarely drank because it's either coke or pepsi.

Life / What Polish kids do after school? [9]

drink beer

at 14?
There is never anything good on TV in Poland, so kids rarely watch it. Meals are home-cooked, no going to McDonald's and stuff. They hang around with friends, go for walks. If you live in the city, you do city stuff, but in the country you might have to go the field and depending on the season, either dig, sow or plow beets, potatoes, wheat, etc.

Life / Is drinking water in Poland good? [96]

In the city people usually don't drink tap water, although it's safe, and some boil it first. In the country you have your own well and it's good.

USA, Canada / New USA visa regulations [19]

New regulations are in effect for Poles receieving US visa. They Now have to take 10 fingerprints which are sent to the US for a back-ground check as a precaution. This will only delay the visa's slightly. Many Poles don't mind this procedure as long as they're getting one. While other are complaining that instead of abolishing the visas all together and trusting the Poles, the US are adding more security...

Hmmmm...wonder why...maybe if they would return on time when their visas expire?

Language / Why do people want to study Polish? [90]

I had no choice. Got sucked into it ever since I was born.
But I teach Polish, and it's because:
1. their grandparents or parents were from Poland
2. they spoke it when young and want to get back into learning the language
3. because they want to travel to Poland some day
4. because they want to learn another language as it expands your brain cells which in turn helps from getting alzheimer's disease in old age.

Love / how can i get him to fall in love with me again? [43]

My advice: go out and buy some new clothes, change your look, go out dancing and make your boyfriend jealous. Let him see other men flirting and dancing with you -- he'll start to love you again. Trust me -- this works!

I agree with the first part, because you will gain more self-confidence when you look good, and after all you are your own best friend and you must believe in yourself.

But if he has no feelings left for you, I don't know if seeing you dance with another guy will provoke any feelings towards you again. He might have someone else in his life and would be glad to get rid of you. It's hard to say not knowing the situation, but it's worth a try.

USA, Canada / How to stay in USA without getting married? [125]

I was arreested while LEAVING the US:

Did you do something illegal? Normally when a Pole overstays his visa, he has no problems going back.

USA, Canada / How to stay in USA without getting married? [125]

The illegal poles have no problems going back by plane back to Poland, no need to escape to another country first. But by being illegal and overstaying their visit, they won't be able to come back to the US for 10 years. And since they're here, illegaly or not, they want to make dollars to go home with something.

What an embarrasment it would be to come back to Poland with no dollars.....

I am German scientist and world fame expert arrested this year summer

Why didn't you use a German passport if you're German?

Genealogy / Looking For Julia Ternes [2]

I live close to the Dells, go there every year. Usually students from Europe get hired by a company that brings them here for the summer and sends them back when the season is done. Maybe they will know?

Travel / Mount Ślęża [3]

Mount Sleza. Oh yes, a very interesting place. 30 km from Wroclaw. Between 1400 and 300 BC it was considered as a holy place. The area was a site for pilgrimages, where after the cleaning of the body and souls were performed in the holy streams, they would cross the rocks and would give themselves to the almighty energy and united with the nature. The teachings from that era tells us about the purity and perfection of God, which is in every human being.

You can feel and sense the energy in many areas of the Holy Mountain. The vibrations of the Earth and Cosmic energy felt on the mountain will help you get in touch with your inner souls as well as helping you overcome your physical problems. When you go up to Sleza Mountain, you will feel like you have more energy, your body heals from ailments and you have a sense of well-being. This mountain is also called a "mountain of promised intentions" because affirmations and prayers said atop of thie mountain have a way of realizing themselves. You also get cleaned from toxic karma and bad vibrations. All this feeling becomes even more stronger with water from the "wonderful Jacob's stream", which has energetic tendencies.

There are trips which include meditations in nature, Slavic riruals, such as: cleansing your body and soul with the power of energy, circle of intentions, accepting a Slavic name as a rebirth symbolizing a new beginning, bath in huge kettles and burning the bad karma by walking on fire to the sounds of drums.

The trips they offer include lodging and all meals.
Here is some information about their trips:

Travel / Gay bars in Warsaw [16]

There was a gay bar "Mykonos Piano Bar" in Warsaw but they shut it down after gays were beat up and a gay couple shot.

There is "Utopia" bar on Jasna 1 street. Some gays mingle there.
