Life / PAYING TO TAKE A PISS IN POLAND, it's BIZARRE [77]

Back to the thread, I don't think paying to use toilets is bizarre if u look at the prevailing conditions in the place in question. Maintenance goes into these toilets. Yeah, u could easily raise the point that tax should cover it but I, for one, am glad that I have to pay to use the toilets.

Life / Who drinks more: Poles or Russians? [50]

Yeah, tequila can really distort things. That's a demonic drink, worth steering clear of. I don't mind one but one can usually be enough after a fair skelp of beer. I remember attempting to do tenpin bowl after being more than half-cut, tequila was the game killer. I was glad to have reached the bowling line, never mind a strike. LOL

News / Another Case Of Intentional HIV Infections in Poland [73]

Mr Bubbles, that's a laugh. It's all about protection and being sensible. If Catholics woke up to this reality, that contraception has its plusses, then there would be a move forward.

Life / Who drinks more: Poles or Russians? [50]

Good point Darius. Poles love to 'hatch it'. The Russians prefer to labour with bigger measures. Brits lag well behind, worrying about the effects of a 25ml 1/2 measure. Lightweights compared to Slavs.

Life / Who drinks more: Poles or Russians? [50]

The Baltic States are reputed to drink the most. I'd probably say Russians but I haven't seen enough of Poland for me to make an accurate assessment. The older generation love their vodka here. My landlord gets sozzled every 2nd day. Out comes the acoustic guitar and ole!!

Food / Popular drink shots in Poland? [28]

They're filled with blue curacao and some diluted vodka I think. I can shoot them freely and don't feel drunk. They give u a nice brain freeze tho as they are loaded with ice.

News / NUDE BRITISH MEN RUNNING AROUND IN WROCLAW [82]

There is a British guy here who has twice run around the market square with only a sock to cover his manhood.

News / Why is Tusk still Polish PM? [67]

I'm aware of that. Lech is a thorn in his side. Lech Kaczyński was rumoured once to have said, 'gimme PIS', to which Tusk replied, 'Peace, ye little bas*ard, ye never give me ony'.

History / Roman Dmowski- Polish Adolf Hitler? [219]

I'd only issue a forewarning. Many looked good on paper but, come the time for hard decisions, they shirked responsibility and changed their spots.

History / Roman Dmowski- Polish Adolf Hitler? [219]

Dmowski was rooted in ideology Filios1, he had the misfortune of being in politics at a time when other players rose above him in stature. He was nothing on the scale of Adolf Hitler.

His ideological ways could not be acted on, unlike Hitler's

He's a confident talker. I don't know what extra he could bring to the table though.

Hit the pub, funny u should mention that, many Poles do that too after vodka. Or was that hitting the pub owner?

Life / I am in Poland on a tourist visa and have been here for 2 years.. [53]

Yeah, u do wonder about the day jobs of such people. Don't get me wrong, I loved a bit of MENSA puzzling and other mental pursuits like chess, but I never let it dominate my life.

It's classic club mentality, an impulse which stems/springs from a primitive source.

I also wonder about how many enrolled on courses for making scrambled eggs.

Absolutely right gtd. Doda, Sharon Stone and Madonna. Please, give me a break. How many times must I say it? Intelligence is a rounded concept. There are many sub forms of intelligence.

These 'tests' are largely mathematical. I never score too well on them. Still, my collective intelligence(s) is pretty decent by any standard.

Scrap the elitism.

News / World's Next Great Cities - Forbes. Warsaw 8. [22]

True enough gtd. I've never been but I've heard countless accounts. Poland isn't the model of clean either but it is moving more in that direction. It all boils down to what u regard as 'great'
