Love / Asian guy dating Polish girl [77]

any advise love to here from polish girls in this site who dated asian guys. anybody.

It just so happens I dated a Filipino guy and I've had a couple of male friends who were Filipino. I agree with Rzeka that three dates is a good sign because it usually only takes one date to tell if you really like someone.

My advice is that you should just be yourself and you'll attract a woman who is right for you. But if you really want this woman, I'm concerned that she said you're sweet. In my own experience I found that Filipino men are definitely very sweet but I always felt like they were just friends instead of boyfriends because of that. I would have liked more sexuality. Is it considered inappropriate in your culture to express your sexual feelings toward women? Men of other races don't hold back. Just make sure your poems and also your conversation with her are more sexually charged. Avoid sweet poems. That's just my opinion.

Love / I had a Polish female friend. Horror in my mind... [79]

Thats just a myth, not all women that are as follow:-

Confused
like sex
like older / younger people
have issues
want to make a statment by their actions

The whole abused thing is just an excuse or an explination for people who can't quite understand why people, do what they do, not everyone that acts 'out of the norm' has been abused!.

Annia

Annia, are you from Poland? In English, when you say "it sounds a lot like", you mean that it resembles it, not that it's true. So, I didn't mean that it was true but that it resembled it.

But it definitely does happen to some women. I know sooooo many women who experienced abuse and it affected their behavior. One of my friends was so troubled that she was constantly going to see a psychiatrist and today she is mentally ill. That's an extreme case, of course, but it's not just a myth that it affects behavior

and I agree with Shewolf that most of it is done by the family members

peterweg said that.

But anyway, I can't even begin to tell you how many girls I know who have been through picture-taking sessions with men who were 30 years older than them. And when they grew up they repeated the behavior and showed the pictures off like it was no big deal.

Love / I had a Polish female friend. Horror in my mind... [79]

America is not a model for the rest of the world, I think.

Well, that's good to hear! Because the situation is very bad here.

This woman comes from a small town where everybody knows each other. The vast majority of child abuse IS from family members.

I see what you're saying. yikes.

A woman who goes out with such an older man and sends you the pictures is defintely not someone who understands or cares how it would affect you. She's definitely not someone who is ready to make a serious commitment to just one person.

You do realise that most sexual abuse is done by a close family member and its not a nice accusation to make.

Not always. Many parents never even know that their children are going through that. You wouldn't be accusing her family of anything just by asking her.

Besides its also an unfounded conclusion based very skimpy knowledge of the woman. A lot of women become promiscuous at some point in their life. I think its best to assume that she likes sex rather that psychoanalysing her from afar.

That's true. But it happens a lot more than some people want to believe. You should see the sex offender database in the US. It's overloaded with people who have abused children. But they're just the ones who have been caught. And here in the US the victims behave the way she is behaving. It must be different there?

So here is my question, what is up with this girl?? Please don’t tell me all Polish girls are like this?

No, all Polish girls are not like that. Her behavior sounds a lot like someone who was sexually abused as a child, and by a grown man. It sounds like she thinks it's okay to be with older men and to show you the pictures. Someone obviously showed her that this behavior was normal. Why don't you ask her if she was ever abused?

Language / "polish pig" - is it offensive? [41]

Because there is a stereotype that all cops are overweight doughnut eating "pigs"

That makes sense. There's a saying here that if you need a cop, just go to the donut shop. :) To be fair to them, they get free donuts and coffee. That's why they're always there.

Language / "polish pig" - is it offensive? [41]

Nah, here it's because they don't think but obey the orders.

Police officers act like that here, too. I mean they do things without thinking.

Language / "polish pig" - is it offensive? [41]

Because they serve.

I thought maybe because they attack, like a dog. The ones in LA have a bad reputation, for doing that.

they are also called: the nine oh, cherrytops, po-po, the man

Yes, I hear blacks call them the po-po's. Why on earth?

Language / "polish pig" - is it offensive? [41]

You…. dog, chicken, what a turkey, silly cow, like sheep, acting the goat, very catty, bovine, old nag, snake, worm, toad, *****, donkey, ass (English not U.S) gannet, parrot, etc,

Don't forget "rat". Like "he's a rat".

Is a pig word OFFENSIVE in everyday language.

Police officers are called pigs as an insult. I don't know why.

Language / difficult English words for Polish speakers? [119]

What about difficult English words for English speakers, like:

• Colour and color
• Centre and Center
• Tap and Fawcet
• Grey and gray

I've also noticed English speakers leave out "the" in certain sentences. Like "She's in hospital" instead of "she's in the hospital" or "I play piano" instead of "I play the piano".

Travel / Have you ever been in Poland? [111]

and you know, you don't feel like strangers - when you say that you are from Poland or 1/2 polish

You're right. People don't feel like strangers here in the US when they are Polish. There are so many different races here that no one feels outcast. There are entire neighborhoods or shopping centers for each race. I live in the Asian area because there is very little crime here compared to other areas. Not too far from here is an all Filipino area with Filipino stores and restaurants. And there's an entire area called Little India and there's also a German area with a shopping center that's designed like buildings in Germany. They sell Polish food and Polish items in their stores. There's also a place called Little Ethiopia. Just every race has a place here. It's probably not that way in Poland, huh?

Love / Are you in a Polish-nonPolish relationship? [150]

gaby, I find that many Polish men don't care about age difference as much as other men do. It's not surprising that he is interested in you.

Love / Foreigners in relationships with Poles - do your in-laws accept you? [66]

I am interested to hear from people in Polish/non Polish relationships about attitudes of their Polish in-laws. Of course every case is different, but I want to know about any problems that you face being accepted by Polish in-laws because of cultural/religious differences, especially if you are already or planning on getting married.

In my case I was the Polish one and he was non-Polish. My parents didn't think he was good enough but they never did anything to interfere. But his mom wanted him to date someone of his own race. She used to put Holy Water out when I was at their house because I was an evil threat. And she took him places where he could spend time with other young women of their race. Like friends' houses or birthday parties or the stores where they worked. I don't intend to get involved with anyone from a different race again.

News / Polish Keyboard with the Polish alphabet? [30]

4. Select/highlight one of the letters and press on the "Shortcut Key..." button.
5. Choose a new shortcut key (for example fo

First type the letter you want to change, for example, z.
Then highlight it.
Then go to the Symbol box and click on the letter you want to change it to.
Then click Insert.
It automatically changes. It's time consuming but it's easy that way. (if the shortcuts don't work)

News / Polish Keyboard with the Polish alphabet? [30]

Yeah, I must be doing something wrong......
I followed the instructions givin by admin...but still??????????

When I open the Symbol box, there's a drop down menu that says Subset. Does yours have that? I can choose various options. Does yours have Latin-1? That's where you can find Polish symbols. They're hard to find but they're on there. Also, where it says Font, it's set to (normal text).
