Parking permited everywhere. Lots of confusing road signs. - yes, Why is it so bad? I must say that England signs, directions are so clear so often even "little monkey" wouldn;t get lost.

In Poland it is nightmare. And why????? it is not so expensive it is just negligence. My friend took me on 1 day trip from krakow to Zywiec and what..... ok there seem to be more, and more rounabouts but no signs. She drives towards roundabout and asks?... where to go? no directions anywhere. You can always try all exits and go around,around.....

That is true about dog shit- So in Poland owners are not obliged to clean it? no law? I remember when I was in USa there was very strict about it there.

I suppose it is more for previous generations but my uncle was born and brough up in Lwow( Polish Lwow) so he didn't like Ukrainians.

I think that Poland has quite bad geographical location- between 2 big countries who were always happy to invade us ( or at least cut a bit of our land ) .That is why probbaly we like countries like USA, GB- far away, in general rather friendly never our enemies.

maybe i am wrong But I was thinking about the reason .

Let's say someone is young, lives in a place when it is difficult to find any job or can find job but very poorly paid. He looks around all his mates go to Uk for 1-2 years and are able to save enough money to buy small flat or start buliding house.( maybe not in Krakow, Wroclaw but in some places you probbaly buy flat , house for 20K pounds).

This is what English call keeping with Joneses ......I am not surprised that so many people go abroad.

I was probbaly like you Madziula had good job in Krakow and moved to England because my husband is English otherwise I wouldn't go anywhere my financial situation in Krakow was fine and i love Krakow.

I think that you should be ok for 400 euro ( if you rent relatively cheap flat) but can't be too lavish.

I think that prices vary on location, closer to centre is more expensive. I thinbk that it depends for how long you want ot stay? I think that apartments in the centre are usually rented for long weekends, max weeks.

Where are you from?! I have never met a sailor or a prisoner, but a lot of people with tatoos who just like the idea, from reggae fans to "perfectly correct citizens" who are relaxed enough to dare be different from the crowd.

I am from Krakow and it is how it was ( I don't know if it isnow ...) there. Maybe it has changed but to be honest I was there 2 weeks ago and didn't see as many people with tatoos like in England.

But I think it is fashion maybe in next 10 years they will be no more fashionable in England but starts to be popular in Poland.

I dont know how it is now but in general I remember that in Poland tatoos had usually prisoners and sailors. They were thought to be rough.

I noticed that they are very popular in UK.

Thinking about everything packed, steriled in England and those mushroom they smelt so nice.

ok I have recipe for my mum rum-cake.

I will try to translate it in the best way.

ingredients:
150g of flour
150 g of sugar
150 g of butter ( melted)
3 eggs
50g of cocoa powder
1 flat teaspon of baking powder.

for glaze
250g of icing sugar
2-3 spoon of water
2-3 spoon of rum
( more less )

Butter melt add sugar ,flour,cocoa, baking powder egg yolks and in the end - whipped egg whites.
put into form , bake for about 15 minutes.( 150C)in preheated oven.

take out and put glaze on it.

to make glaze put icing sugar into bowl add water and rum ( better more rum it has better aromat) - mix together to make it soft but densy.

if put hot on the cake it melts more and move equally.

really quick and nice.

I was thinking about 1st of November, All Souls Day.

It is very special day in Poland.Family members from all over the country meet together at family grave. It seem to be sad but it is special day for me. My husband is English I can't explain it to him. he has to go with me one day and see.It is time of silence, looking into yourself, muse....

Especially in the evening when it gets dark and all lights shine...

I agree that customer service in Poland is not great. I think that people are still rude they miss some manners.
But I wouldn't say that customer service is so great un UK or USA.

Ok, in UK in general everyone is polite but not always helpful. You can also say in polite way f....off. And in shops they are so pushy to sell you store cards. I find it annoying . Last time I was in BHS and woman there was so pushy....someone said that thye should hear 3 times no to stop. After 3 times I could get rather angry.

Especially in new houses.

I quite liked when we stayed in Filey-Yorkshire- in old traditonal hotel and there were there 2 taps.
