Work / Possibly of Moving - Life in Krakow on a Salary of € 45,000 [26]

A BIG QUESTION: if you are in Poland temporarily or as a guest worker (or your husband is) can your children even go to Polish public school at all? You are not permanent residents, right?

If you are working legally then 99.9% yes.

Public schools are for free, but they are not giving books or food.

Life / Why to live in Poland? [21]

I really had worst experiences when polish people talks about their government in a bad way e.g high taxes taking almost 40% of salary and sending troops to Iraq

And what's wrong with that ?

and by "Strange Rules" I meant rules which are imposed by Polish government.

For example ?

BTW why all polish girls are moving out from Poland?

I don't know, maybe they want to meet a sexy Romeo like you.

Law / I want to go to poland but worried about the army [38]

planning to stay for a few months...

I don't think that they will find you within a few months, anyway It's not that they take you out of home and put in the uniform, first local civilian administration need to register you as a future conscript (and they inform you to come and sign something, so you know when that happens), next there are medical tests and at lest a few moths more before conscription...

Besides, don't you have a dual citizenship ?

(and military service was reduced to only 9 months :) )

In this day and age that you must serve in any Army is ridiculous.

Why ?

Genealogy / Warsaw Poland, did citizens have to have a passport in 1933-1945 [4]

She ended up in Germany in 1945.

Probably a trip sponsored by mustache guy and co. travel company.

Related: Polish Passports Pre WWII from the London Polish Embassy in 1935

My Great-grandmother got a passport from the London Polish Embassy in 1935. Where do they keep records of this issued passport? I have only the passport number.

Try to contact polish home office "Ministerstwo Spraw Wewnętrznych". Try that first. Good luck!

Law / I want to go to poland but worried about the army [38]

I think there is no obligation to do national service if you have a second citizenship.

True. Besides unless he comes for long how would WKU find him ? No way. And even If then first there is komisja lekarska and so on...
