Hello all,

I am thinking of relocating to Poland, I have one question in mind. What is the average yearly wage rise in Poland? Especially in IT companies.

"Average" doesn't mean anything, and I doubt that reliable information exists. The only thing that matters is what you can negotiate with your company. Some companies are more generous than others. Others are downright stingy. This is something you will want to discuss during the interview process.

Do you mean like a rise that would automatically cover inflation? I doubt such a thing exists in private companies (you can negotiate your periodical rates privately with your employer), but it does in the public sector and also for retirement pensions.

This is most visible in the increase in the so-called minimum wage, which a large number of employees earn. From July, it amounts to PLN 28 per hour of work in Poland, or PLN 4,300 gross per month. This is much lower than in Western countries, but still quite good with a further upward trend.

In January that will increase again to 4626. While great for workers, this is definitely contributing to inflation, and the increased costs being forced into ZUS slow employment growth. Lets be honest, 4626 is not much to live on in todays economy in Poland unless you are in the countryside.

Certainly, but I hope that if two spouses work and earn PLN 9,252 gross together, they will be able to live at a decent standard. If so, the minimum wage would fulfill its role. Naturally, I omitted the problem of children, which also cost money.

And there is the problem. 800+ is not enough to afford child care if mom goes back to work. In Krakow, Montessori is over 1400 a month, and a friend told me a public pre school is about 800 a month. 10K per month in Krakow, unless outside of the city is not going too far. Dinner out last night for two was 400 and not at a high end restaurant either. I am not even touching on moms who want to stay home for a few years, then you have a financial disaster if there is only one 5k income.

Not sure where you live, but have you seen real estate pricing per sqm lately? Insane prices for Poland IMO. 15K per sqm is cheap now in Krakow.

I understand that this is the price for new apartments/houses. These prices are crazy, not only in Poland. Currently on holiday in a little-known town on the German Baltic Sea, I heard that the prices of 1 sqm in newly built apartments reach €14,000. It's not hard for you to guess that Poles also work on this construction site. This is crazy pricing and I don't think anyone will pay it.
