Polonia in America!
As the sixth largest ethnic group in the United States, Polish Americans remain a vibrant part of our nation's ethnic mosaic, its tax base, and cultural well-being. If we look at what Polonia does in the Philadelphia area, we see a reflection of the good Polish Americans do within local communities across the United States.

1. Polish Americans have always been an outstanding pillar in Philadelphia's, Pennsylvania's and the nation's tax base. The taxes Polish Americans pay include income, property, business, school, sales, inheritance and other taxes, which represent a substantial portion of the annual revenue used to support government services and continue community programs.

I would have to say Chicago Polonia is better people and they are well dresses and neat. This people are polites and enjoy their jobs and parties. They do not have this life at Poland and now they are enjoying their freedom before they retired and go back to Poland or some of them stays here forever.

Chicago is the best place and it is very beautiful.

The Polish in Chicago are second to none. I hope the Poles in town stay; they add so much to the city.

Chicago is the best place and it is very beautiful.

Hey, I know some damn cool Slovak Americans from Indy. It's not India-noplace anymore.

yeah, it still kind of is. but sure is better then it used to. there is a small PL community here. they meet up a few times a year and do cool stuff.

thanks to our government not enforcing the immigration laws, our cities are overridden with illegals that bring crime, drugs,gangs, and work for $5.00 an hour and bring the wages down.

The get free health care overburden or school systems and get free food coupons, I can go on and on..

The limeys will go down quicker than us by joining the EU,the biggest mistake they ever made.
60 million ppl on a little Island fighting for jobs, theyre just beginning to taste what were been enduring for years..

Thankfully we have enough room here to spread out:)

The Brits are losing jobs to these ppl who will work for lower wages...I dont think they are too happy from what I have read on here.

We have quotas on how many ppl can enter the country legally per year, Im fine with that, I dont want any Illegalls here no matter from what country they came from:)

I might be wrong ,but if youre from the EU dont you have all acess to any country??

The US only gives so many visa`s per county each year, and if you over stay they deport you for 10 years.

I know its a nighmare, anythime you have to deal with the government,
believe me the IRS makes my life hell:)

I believe the date you have in mind is February 24th 2009.

As for the Polish in Chicago, the Chicago Tribune ran an article about the Poles in the city. Many are disillusioned and looking to return home unless immigration laws change.

Poles leaving Chicago would be a shame.

As to the other comments posted by sledz, he's right. The city has become far less safe and enjoyable as the years have past.

Sadly, it (Chicago and society) only looks to be getting worse.
