A spinster was gagged, bound and left to die in her bedroom by two Polish burglars, the Old Bailey heard today.
Kuba Dlugosz, 33, and Szymon Wyrostek, 26, locked 83-year-old Eveline Kelmenson inside her large north London home after stripping her of a gold necklace and wedding ring.

The Jewish pensioner, known as Lina, suffered a 'slow death' from hypothermia over the days that followed as she lay helpless on her bedroom floor unable to free herself from the restraints.

Allegedly. They have pleaded not guilty, until convicted, they are innocent.

If these guys are found guilty, there should be no mercy for them.

They should get the death penalty. I hope they have the death penalty there.

Sadly like most criminals in the U.K, they will get nice jail cell, tv etc. U.k has a pathetic justice system, human rights have taken away justice for many. One man last week, claimed it would be against his children's human rights if he was put in jail after being caught for a serious crime, and yes he won his case even tho found guilty.

I respect countries who give life sentences that mean life.... not 4 or 5 years. They should also be made to work for their food and roof over their heads.

Got any link or reference to that? Sounds like complete bull at least the way you are saying it. The precedent set will mean any parent with a child can avoid a prison sentence from now on.

Are you talking about this 1st June -
dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1392885/Prisoner-allowed-father-child-jai l-human-right-family-life.html
which is not as worrisome as saying any parent can avoid prison for being a parent.

Thanks.

Yep. History of violence, Burglary, dangerous driving. And freed to be sole guardian of five children. I'm sooo going off the EU.

The appeal went the culprits way because the sentencing judge was shown to have not considered an Article of Rights when sentencing. If the judge said he did, the jail-term would have stood. A technicality more than precedent.

Well,it wouldnt if there wasnt plenty of form with a certain sector of Polish sociaty, the type who at the mere sniff a house may have been pre war owned by jews(no matter how much of a p!ss poor shtetl hut it may have been) will be in there like sh!t through a goose with spades and metal detectors........so,Im sorry,in this case I suspect the fact that the victim was Jewish had a huge part in the crime being commited.

Why do you feel the need to post this exactly?

This is obviously a troll thread.

Is this in any way relevant to the thread? Or are you trying in some twisted way to justify the attack on the old lady. Sick.

The newspaper article in the UK ends with "Sorry we are unable to accept comments for legal reasons."

After the Facebook juror contempt incident, this is becoming a greater issue in the UK. In most or all US states, things are different. But there are strict rules for jurors in the UK. (Facing jail)

A simple question for potential jurors should be; " In the event you are charged with contempt of court will your family arrive to support you wearing ;

A, Sober, smart buisness like clothing or
B, various brands of nylon based sports wear."

A follow up story on this: one found guilty, one to be retried. Seems one of them used to prey on the elderley in Poland too.

thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23964303-polish-criminal-freed-twice-before-tying-up-woman-83-and-leaving-her-to-die.do

From the Daily Mail:
"Legal papers reveal the divorced father-of-two was barred from the Army because a psychologist deemed he was an untreatable psychopath."

No, life sentence is much more painful. Death lasts only a few seconds. :):):)

Just two stupid men.

what a great choice of words when it comes to basically murdering a human being.

You guys should be ashamed to even try to excuse it or play it down because there's no excuse for what those two criminals did, Polish or not Polish, doesn't matter at all.

A shocking amount of them died at the hands of their fellow countrymen.

What's the percentage? Do you have any links on this or is this just more mud your throwing against the Polish wall hoping it will stick?

I'm sure there is a higher percentage of your Russians killing each other. Putin blew up Russian apartment buildings in Moscow killing hundreds of Russians as an excuse to attack Chechyna and has even assassinated Russians living in Britain.

what a great choice of words when it comes to basically murdering a human being.

This all true. But I think the purpose of his posting this topic was more in an attempt to define all Polish people with these terrible Polish people. He downgraded his comments on the tragedy so that he wouldn't look too much like he has an anti-Polish agenda.

you're probably right about his intentions however in a case like this one, it shouldn't really matter because even if one chooses strong words when reporting what happened, no one should feel personally attacked unless he identifies himself with the criminal act of these scumbags. As I said above, Polish or not, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't try to excuse any American criminal either.

Do not be so harsh to... you yourself. Deep inside have for them warm and mellow feelings of peace. Do not think of penalty, think of mercy - mercy killing.

It seems the British police flunked the job:

Dlugosz was arrested 20 months later when murder detectives employed sophisticated forensic techniques to identify DNA left by his gloved hand on three chisels. They found his real name was Piotr Bogucki and that he had fooled local officers who arrested him over two burglaries in the month before Miss Kelmenson was killed.

Those officers failed to send a copy of his fingerprints to Poland for officers to cross-check on their systems.
As a result they did not realise the tattooed 6ft villain was wanted by the Polish authorities to complete a sentence for tying up staff during violent raids on schools in 2000.

Inquiries by the Daily Mail in Poland have revealed Dlugosz spent the majority of his adult life serving jail sentences for violent crimes and burglaries.
