Driving is dangerous in Poland, many drunk drivers

LOL My friend who was here for a few weeks before returning to Poland took a drive with us to New York via the New Jersey Turnpike claimed that people in the States drive much safer then in Poland. Here people drive usually up to 120kph once in a while faster, while in Poland 180kph is not uncommon. The worst thing is how drivers going at such speeds on a single carriageway road pass vehicles in front of them while barely fitting through the truck in the opposite lane.

What shoulder is that ? It's usually a ditch once u get out of town.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, driving in Poland is not difficult, it is just an acquired art, after the first 200 KLM, you will realize you need 360 vision.

Pennyboy, you must have forgotten the rules, you flash your lights, sit on their tail and tell them to get out of the way. The worst part about single lane roads in Poland, is the quality of the road due to heavy use by lorries, it is not uncommon to be driving and then find your self in a toboggan track, made by ware and tear due to heavy lorry use.

Moved from

When I was in Poland I enjoyed the Warsaw War Museum the most and then the Salt Mines.
Third was the kabob shops.
There was no fourth.

Quite. And 90% of them here are rubbish compared to most other places.

I wonder what he meant by "Warsaw War Museum". There are at least 6 or 7 museums here that relate to wars and wartime.

There's plenty to see in Kielce, more than just the Palace of the Kraków Bishops. And that part of the city's history cannot be ignored.

It's not beautiful at all in a conventional sense, however there are some excellent older buildings there and the centre of the city has an interesting character..

There are some interesting newer buildings too; the bus station is an architectural oddity that's worth visiting.

@jon357 Kielce-bus station
I can see some similarity to "spodek" in Katowice.
