Poland in photo riddles - part 2

was modelled on something shown to Poles by... Americans :)

Oh, I forgot, and by the British :)

National Gravel Eating day?

;D

They aren't eating gravel, they're just caught in a moment while doing something ;) But what you can see in the previous photo is just the beginning, they're going to spent at least a few days there. It's been taking place ever year in spring and autumn for the last 30 years:

@maf, nope, it doesn't have anything to do with land surveying - another photo hint :):

Riddle 1.

He got a sidearm and HK416 on the other side.

Riddle 2.

Selection to Grom in Bieszczady.

Riddle 3. What's the anniversary about?

Connected? Do you mean 11/09?

He got a sidearm

Maf already guessed this one :) But do you have any ideas which pistol this might be? I wanted to make it part of the riddle, but it was explained to me that one can't make out from this photo which pistol it is exactly (and I don't know the answer myself). Still, we can have some guesses, I suppose... :P

and HK416 on the other side.

Nice one, I didn't notice that he has something on the other side too lol I just focused on the pistol ;))

Selection to Grom in Bieszczady.

Yes, correct (the mountain part of selection)! Well, actually, only the last photo is from GROM selection, the rest is from selection for AGAT, but I used those only because there aren't that many photos from selection for GROM. So, you've guessed Riddle 2 - congrats! :)

Connected? Do you mean 11/09?

No, I just meant that the two photos/riddles are connected since there are soldiers from special forces on both of them, and, obviously, the GROM operator from Riddle 1 had to go through a selection.

So, what do you think happened for the first time 30 years ago (Riddle 3)? :)

which pistol this might be?

Cannot say. My guess is HK USP (one of those versions) or Glock 17 but it could be something else.

@Ironside, yeah, I was able to identify the holster only:

proshop.targetscreators.com/produkt/kabura-safariland-glock-17-als-coyote-fde-stx-tlr1-x300-optic-prawa/

But it can be used to carry different pistols (FN, Glock, SIG Sauer, Smith & Wesson and STI Intl Staccato), so it didn't help much :P

- that's exactly what the hint was about - the faces being blurred :)

They are Poland special forces that were created about 30 years ago.
They compare to the United States Navy Seals and are some very bad asses.
They are involved in Poland's covert operations that never happened as in Black Ops.
Very elite force.

But do you have any ideas which pistol this might be?

My guess it is a 9mm Wist 94 that is manufactured in Poland.
It is a very well crafted weapon.
If not then most likely a Military Colt 1911 .45 acp.

They are closer to the British SAS than to American Navy Seals.

This may be true as the Navy Seals are much more elite and secretive.

The GROM are some of the toughest special forces on the planet.
Know in Poland as the "Bad Ass Boys".
The only difference is they don't make movies about them like they do the Navy Seals.
Read about them here:

Funny nobody knows the answer. It only proves most members here are still young people. Good!

Hint: he made a name for himself in 1970s.
One of his best buddies and partners, even more famous, was this guy:

Who`s that guy?

Don't look too closely at his hair or you'll turn to stone.... (a big clue there...)

It only proves most members here are still young people.

Some of us are young people who can't get over the fact that people a decade younger have grey hair and wrinkles...

you'll turn to stone....

:) funny, it didn`t occur to me. So tell us their names and discipline. Do you remember hearing about or even watching them in 1970s?? It is quite possible you could if you were interested in that sport.

Here is another famous sportsman from 1970s though of another discipline.

Yes. He showed Soviet fans his famous f-off sign after he won the medal despite their furious booing and whistling. Soviet officials insisted on his suspension but to no avail.

Another famous Polish sportsman is on the left.

Yes, Wojciech Fibak, the best Polish male tennis player. Today a rich businessman. Contrary to bankrupt Boris Becker, he knew how to invest his earnings.

He invested in art. His collection is said to be worth millions. And yes, he is smart coz he supported Komorowski for President.

After a dozen males time for a female - this artistic photo shows a sportswoman active in 1980s. Her discipline was sort of feminine.

Her discipline was sort of feminine.

Teresa Folga - the best Polish female rhythmic gymnast. Today - 54. She was also a sports femme fatale - males easily got infatuated with her when she performed.
