You might say that this place is two sides of the same coin.

Not sure if anyone else got it Border control at Leszna Górna, correct ?

Yup, you and Miło were both right :) It used to be one village before 1920, then it was divided between Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Paulina - I chose this for a reason, because I found it fascinating that there were a majority of Protestants in a Polish-speaking village before WW1. I really like Zaolzie in general, so I thought it would make an interesting riddle! It's not clear what happened to the Protestant majority there - only a small part of the village ended up in Czechoslovakia as Horní Líštná, but if anyone can find out more, I'd love to know!

do you know why there's a wild boar on his T-shirt?

Isn't it supposed to be a symbol associated with the legend of the foundation of Kielce? Kiełek is the name of the wild boar monument in Kielce.

What are they going to do

I would agree with Milo on this one. Abseiling from a helicopter.

What is that exercise all about?

Looks to me as though lots of SPAP members from different areas were invited. I would guess they were working together to improve their skills and tactics.

Google Felicjanów, the one near Plock.

I really like Zaolzie in genera

It's a fascinating place, a sort of oddity with its own environment ang feeding.

Yes, typo

Then you've guessed it first! Good job with noticing that rappelling gear :) Yes, it was a helicopter rappel training on that day :) Those were joint exercises organised by Kielce's SPAP for SPAP members from all over Poland, firemen from Special High-altitude Rescue Group and soldiers from an airborne battalion. In later days they were also practicing descent into watercrafts, jumping into the water from a helicopter, rescuing people from the water, etc.

Johnny_reb, were you in the military?

Miloslaw and jon357, you were to some extent onto something too, because they may wear those T-shirts also during competitions, but johnny_reb guessed it right!

Thanks everyone for participating, I had fun with this one :D

Yup, you and Miło were both right :) It used to be one village before 1920

Wow, that's amazing :D

@Delph, yes, that was an interesting riddle and a difficult one - I'm in total awe that Milo and dolno guessed it! When you gave those statistics I figured that it may be in Zaolzie area. And I liked your clue at the beginning - it was almost poetic :)))

a symbol associated with the legend of the foundation of Kielce? Kiełek is the name of the wild boar monument in Kielce.

Yes, exactly! :)) A wild boar is one of symbols of Kielce because of this legend :)

@Dolno, do you want more border crossings or more riddles? ;D

It's a fascinating place, a sort of oddity with its own environment ang feeding.

The moment that got me was walking around Jablunkov/Jabłonków and realising that Polish was actually widely used there.

More please,

Similar in name to a well known element, this building is home to an international academic partnership.

And I liked your clue at the beginning - it was almost poetic

I'm sleepy so I have no brains for this clue, but I'll try and do more in that style :D I like the idea of trying to make the clues poetic while giving statistics - I think it's a fun way of doing it!

Looks a bit like tuna or swordfish steaks but I don't think they're that commonly eaten in Poland.

Maybe this is going to be a hint: just like pawian I'm a Gemini and I like experimenting and trying new stuff and just like him I like introducing my family and friends to new meals, exotic fruit, unusual stuff, etc.

Those are steaks but not from tuna or swordfish :)

Well you're not alone there :)

Those steaks look really familiar and I'm wondering if I've eaten them before. It's not shark is it?

@Chemikiem, yeah, I've tried it only once too, the taste was pretty intense, as far as I remember, I think it was the most salty fish I've ever eaten... I don't think I've become a fan, but apparently you have to know how to prepare it so it wouldn't be too pungent...

For a moment i thought it might have been flipper.

Haha... lol

I think it was the most salty fish I've ever eaten..

I don't remember it as being salty, just a very meaty taste for a fish.

i thought it might have been flipper.

Lol!

I have caught all kinds of sharks while fishing in Florida.
They stink so bad that when we got them up to the boat we just cut the line and let them go.

For a moment i thought it might have been flipper.

Flipper was a dolphin which is delicious.
Shark meat on the other hand is very dangerous to eat as it contains high levels of toxic chemicals.
Shark meat also has a high content of lead.
