What put you off Mazda?

Mine was too expensive to look after basically. Think models with rotary engines.

I had a love of sporty looking/classic cars without the budget to maintain them properly if I'm honest.

I just don't like modern looking cars, they have no soul.

I've had 2 MGB Roadsters, a frog-eyed Sprite, Vauxhall Tigra, the list goes on.

I don't like Peugeot, Renault or Mitsubishi.

MX5

I must admit they're nice looking cars.

five-door Clubmans

Noooooo! I've tried to like the Mini Clubman but I just can't. It's ugly.

Beautiful car,

When I think of beautiful cars I think of the old MG TF 1500, Lotus Elan S4 DHC, Volvo P1800.

I'd collect them all if I could :)

Was that an RX7 with a Wankel engine and sleepy eyes?

Not bad, today this car would be worth quite a lot of money.

I also once had a car with sleepy eyes. It was a Ford Probe 2 which was produced in the American Mazda factory. It didn't rust because it was partly made of plastic and had a normal engine. It was beautiful. Red.

Ford Probe 2

Nice looking car. Had to google as hadn't heard of it before.

Probably yes. Same with the Frog-Eye Sprite I had.

The most unreliable car I had was an Opel

I have second Vauxhall (British Opel) and they aren't bad at all. Actually with my previous Astra a recovery man responded to my 'I should get rid of this car' by saying 'Yeah, but those are good cars, very hard to kill'
the Frog-Eye Sprite I had.

That is one cute car :)

Tesla might be about to make a huge windfall off its rivals failing to sell enough EVs.
The US automaker is banding together with rivals like Ford and Toyota to help them meet tough new European emissions rules.
UBS analysts estimated the move could net Tesla $1 billion in compensation.
You should be seeing a lot more Tesla's in Europe soon.

Not if Trump does what he says.

So far, we have seen that Tesla will sell as many as 41% fewer cars on the German market in 2024 than in 2023. They could sell a few more cars with combustion engines or at least hybrids. Ah...they don't produce such cars at all.

That is because the Tesla Y was Europe's favorite electric car model in 2024 with sales recovering from the recent upgrades that were being made on them.

the sales of electric vehicles IN GENERAL in Germany fell by 50 per cent (I heard it's because the German government no longer offers subsidies to electric vehicles for potenital buyers - but maybe it is just misinformation what I heard)

Electric cars will never catch on.The future is either in hybrids or hydrogen.

The future is either in hybrids or hydrogen.

I don't know much about hydrogen technologies - but I read that it's not that easy to even build good hydrogen containers since hydrogen causes metal brittleness in the long run - just to focus your attention: hydrogen atom is just a proton an electron - so quite small - it can well penetrate metal crystal lattices

the alternative, hydrogen fuel cells use very rare metals from what I read and I doubt they will catch on unless some technologies using more available materials are discovered

the Chinese are working on sodium-iodine batteries that would make expensive lithium obsolete if the technology is reliable - but to be honest even the lithium batteries technology is not 100 per cent reliable from what I can gather as shown by incidents of EV's spontaneously igniting - as you can imagine having an EV's spontanously igniting in say a underground car-park is not an ideal situation

New Opels are based on Peugeot and Citroen technology. How old is your car? Maybe it's one of those new ones.

How old is your car?

One was 2004 and one 2016

Electric cars will never catch on.

Not in the UK. Just on a practical level there simply won't ever be enough charging stations available. At home charging for EV's would be a joke with so many houses converted to flats etc with no driveways and only on street parking.

Electric prices continue to soar, EV's are destroying the roads because they're so heavy and if something goes wrong with them you will need deep pockets to get them fixed.

don't know much about hydrogen technologies

There some on the roads in California:

2016

Peugeot only took over Opel in 2017, and in 2021 merged with Fiat. The Stellantis Group was founded.

Now I am not surprised that in Poland 40 used Opels are registered every hour of work. Only used Volkswagens are registered more.

40 used Opels are registered every hour

And that's only those imported from abroad.
