Now south-west edge of Poland - Szklarska Poreba.
Great location in the foothills of Jizera Mountains - Harrahov (Czech Republic couple of kilometers). Germany also not too far away. Very close Karpacz city.

On the place - good base for skiing - Ski slopes for beginners and intermediates. For the advanced I'd rather recommended Harrahov more - nice ski jumping hill overthere ;)

It's worth to mention that in Szklarska Poręba Jakuszyce are great cross-country ski trails, where often trains Justyna Kowalczyk and were organised FIS Cross-Country World Cup races.

Accommodations are not expensive - even from 30PLN for a night but during holidays the place is packed.

Nice ideas guys, I've been thinking about getting away with the family for a few days this winter. Keeping it domestic does make a last minute vacation very easy to arrange.

Any other ideas? Would love to find a small cabin somewhere very peaceful. No bars and late night music, just tranquillity.

Great location in the foothills of Jizera Mountains - Harrahov

Thanks for suggestion. i really appreciate this.

(Czech Republic couple of kilometers)

this is also good. i like to make smaller trips around my main location.

Germany also not too far away.

i checked it on the map. Yes, its relatively close to Lusatia. Whenever travel to Czech Republic`s Prague i used to visit Lusatia. Its like holly ground to me. My heart rejoice to walk on that ancient Slavic soil. No matter that i aren`t neither Catholic, neither Protestant, i like to enter their Churches and left some money there, contemplate.... Let God save brotherly Lusatian Serbs

Very close Karpacz city.

yes, yes. Good, good.

:)

I can also recommend Zakopane as a holiday stay. They have affordable prices, beautiful views and one-of-the-kind atmosphere. There's a lot of attractions there as well, that's my personal favourite.
