Inherited land in Poland - ideas?

Hello all,
I've inherited a decent sized plot of land in Poland. Its been used for agricultural purposes for years, dating back to my great grandparents and there aren't any houses in the very near vicinity. There is a dirt road providing access to it, off of a paved road situated 300ft away. There's a few windmills surrounding it. A small town is located about a 10min drive away offering small shops and small restaurants. Through this town, runs a highway which provides access to larger cities, amongst them Rzeszow.

Other than agriculture, what other purposes can this land serve?

I currently, live abroad in the US, but I do visit Poland on an annual basis. It would be nice to build a small off grid cabin there for summer stays in the countryside, or perhaps even several cabins and run it as an air b&b.

How can I find out about the logistics and building codes/permits to do anything with it?

Regards,

A worry-free way would be to try to rent it to a local farmer for farming crops; he could pay you something in return. If you plan to build cabins, you'd have to invest a lot of effort and money in that, which would mean you'd have to spend much more time in Poland. If you're ready for it, why not.

You can get information about lands/building codes, etc. at geoportal.gov.pl (there's and English version there). In general, a local surveyor would be the most helpful to create a formal document with property borders, access roads. He may also have some insight about future investments in the area, which may help you make a decision (maybe they plan to build a new road or some other tourist attraction, which would make your property more valuable).

Thank you for the information. I'll look into this on the website you shared.

First you would have to check planning. That may limit your option.
