Who would win in a fight - white tailed eagle or bald eagle?

As it says in the title: who would win in a fight of national birds? In one corner we have the Polish national animal - the White Tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus Albicilla), and in the other the symbol of all things American - the Bald Eagle.

Reading about the behavior of the white tailed eagle I learned that they like to stay in one place a lot of the time:

"White-tailed eagles spend much of their day perched on trees or crags, and may often not move for hours. Perhaps up to 90% of a day may be spent perched, especially if weather is poor."

This seems to me a very uncharacteristic thing for somebody from Poland to do. On the other hand, it is the most Polish thing to do - stoically waiting for conditions to improve, .

The Bald Eagle, on the other hand, spends most of his time soaring on powerful air currents, and enjoying the air of freedom. This to me is very American.

Both like fish very much.

Well, that depends. Is grappling and elbow strikes allowed? :-)

And we have to take into account that a Bald Eagle may be bald because of a high testosterone levels that in some cases increase baldness.

That would give him an upper hand.

After having watched some videos just now of eagles fighting in the wild, I am certain that most concerning is the claw!

I'm also happy to report that I found more info re: the bald eagle. It appears he is an opportunist and a thief, despite his noble appearance. Instead of hunting for his own food, he prefers to muscle out other more hardworking birds from their meals. To me, this means -1 point in the fight with the Polish eagle. Also, I found out that both birds are very stupid, especially when compared to crows or macaws. The bald eagle, for example, is not smart enough to walk into shelter when it's raining, and instead just sits there getting soaked. Again, -1 point for the Bald Eagle.

Hard to say, however I wouldn't fancy any bird's chance against the British lion...

Considering the fact that your Lion now only exists in art, and has been physically extinct for at least two millennia... I wouldn't be so sure.

He lives at Longleat, and growls a lot.

He lives at Longleat

Please review the below article:

In summary, as recently as 2014 the lions at Longleat were put down because they were too inbred.

5 of them were, according to your link.

The rest are fine and waiting to deal with any naughty birdies that come their way...
