A lovely video clip.

It's nice, isn't it? I love seeing all the generations playing music together, the youngest kids and the 'aul fellas' :)) They put the word out on Facebook a few weeks before and gave the name of the tune to learn and then people simply turned up on the day with their instruments.

Another thing you'd like is in Dublin on Tuesday nights in the Stag's Head pub. You bring your ukelele - I'm serious! actually you can bring a guitar or a banjo as well, you won't be turned away. If you can't play you can just join in the singing:

I'm sure that as a Brit you know what I mean about missing 'the music' when I'm in Poland.

I wonder when they will play music in Israel near the border again...

near the border again...

Not soon, there is an unhealthy climate near the border.

Yep. In and around my little town there must be at least 10 open mike nights a month.

I used to go to a small pub in Leeds (now gone) sometimes where most customers were from Ireland or were Irish diaspora and always loved it when someone started doing an impromtu turn. Sometimes it was really high quality and even the most modest one was never bad.

@Atch
Have you seen this?

Seems strange.

"GardaĆ were last night probing the shock theory that the explosion that killed a homeless man was caused by a bomb.

Sources.have.told.the.Irish.Mirror.that.investigators.believe.the.suspected.device.was.underneath.the.man's.bed.in.a.Dublin.homeless.shelter - and exploded as he slept."
