Both wines go very well, although I wanted to put Chateau Talbot in the garage.
But let's get back to the books. What wine will we take to Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen?

Chateau Talbot

Not the cheapest wine. Store it well.

The Snow Queen?

Must be about Gerda or Kai.

I was just thinking about ice wine but Gerda and Kai fit even better.
Okay, let's go further, what is the best wine to take to a concert of a Polish pianist?

I was just thinking about ice wine

Ice wine is a type of wine made with grapes that have been left to freeze on the vine.
Germany and Canada are the leading producers of traditional ice wines, however the United States, particularly Michigan, in the Traverse City area where johnny reb lives produces the best ice wine in the world.

That is because we have the best grape strains and weather in the world to make ice wine with.

We also have the climate to grow not just grapes but the best cherries to make wine with too.
Traverse City, Michigan is the "Cherry Capital of the World."
Lyzko would be in seventh heaven living here with all the free wine tasters and testing that our wineries offer in the area.

Cherry Capital of the World."

In Europe, high-proof alcohols are made from cherries, eg cherry vodka in Poland and cherry liqueur in Germany. Cherry wine is a rarity.

The World's Largest Cherry Pie as part of the Charlevoix, Michigan's annual cherry festival, a giant pan was built, along with an equally titanic oven.

Local farmers supplied the ingredients.
The result, a cherry pie weighing 17,420 pounds. (7900 kilo's)
It was a world record.
Can you imagine how much wine those cherries could have made.
We have cherry wine of many kids available here and it really is not that popular as far as I know.
The cherry vodka made here locally is much more popular.
Gypsy distillery vodka known worldwide.

They ship the dried cherries to anyplace in the world.
I like the fresh big Black sweet cherries right out of the orchards that are cold and firm and juicy and pop in your mouth when you bite into them.

Tart cherries are used for pies.
Infused cherry vodka is o.k. for a change but not for everyday swill.

why they call it Polish?

Because "Polish" in this case is a badge of the highest quality.

I've had plenty of very good sauvignon blamcs, but this may be the best ever. Crisp, minerally, that smooth scrape on the tongue. The aroma is layered with a grapefruit and minerals sandwiching a hint of cotton candy. A really delightful glass.

My personal favorite $20 bottle of wine is Josh Cabernet, a California red wine.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine that has flavors of blackberry, toasted hazelnut, and cinnamon, with hints of vanilla and toasted oak.
It is smooth, juicy, and well-balanced.
It is the first wine that Josh Cellars made in 2016 which was rated 91 that year putting it in the top 5% in the world in that price range.

The 2016 is out of stock but I did hit the gold mine in an old Mom & Pops store in the U.P. of Michigan where I found 3 bottles still marked $16 so I bought all three of them.

The 2019 vintage was rated as Editors' Choice by wine enthusiast which is still widely available and almost as good as the 2016.

What country of Europe are you referring to ?
Please post your source as it seems there would be a shipping cost to Europe from the U.S. plus tax
2018 was is not a sought after year.
Here is mine for an example on E-Bay.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 750Ml
$19.00 plus 6% sales tax in Michigan making it $20.14 total.

You can buy it in big box store here cheaper I do admit.

I never serve alcohol at my party's or functions due to the liability laws.
My guests are told to bring their own.
I can't be accused of over serving if they bring their own, leave and get into an accident and kill someone.

I assumed you were joking but turns out there is such a thing in the US

findlaw.com/legalblogs/law-and-life/social-host-liability-legal-tips-before-serving-alcohol-at-a-party/#:~:text=What%20Is%20Social%20Host%20Liability,during%20or%20after%20your%20party.

Rightly or wrongly, in most European cultures it is rather rude not to offer alcohol to a guest.

I see one of the suggestions above is to offer your guest a bed or couch - but then presumably they could hold you liable for food poisoning at breakfast or being scalded by hot water in the shower
