Due to the Ukrainian victory in Cherson it's time for a "better" wine. This time I have found Chateau Marquise de Terme 2007 in my cellar. It is 4eme Grand Cru Classe 1855 Bordeaux wine. So it is a wine from the Wine Olympus. Price today €50-100. I have bought some 10 bottles 10 years ago. There are only 2 left. Now it is the best time to drink this wine. 2007 vintage was not a superiore but now after 15 years it's no more important. Wine for a dinner today.

Hey, Forum people, what do you used to drink at Christmas?

used to

Used to before?

Certainly the masses tend to drink whatever is marketed at them over the holiday season and that changes over the years.

At 9am? LOL

The best drink I've ever had is called a Rum Runner. I used to drink them at the "Top O Mast" when I lived on Ft. Myers, bh.

The place is out of business, so are all of them. I suppose, it was a good call to move back home.

I hate wine though. Havent had a glass of that swill in over 20 years.

Beer is more sophisticated anyhow:)

Not very christmassy but hits the spot.

Better than sweet sherry

It was supposedly all an act. He did a brilliant job if he wasnt drunk.

Do you know how to avoid a hangover? Stay drunk!...Dean Martin

Have you ever seen W.C. Fields?

bitter

Yes, quite bitter. That's its appeal, very dry. Nice to add to a sparkling wine as they do around Venice.

Not if it's good quality wine, and in any case you only have a few glasses.

Why ruin a good quality wine ?

Not if it's good quality wine, and in any case you only have a few glasses.

It's never good to mix alcholic drinks such as beer and whiskey or whiskey and wine or wine and beer.
Any professional drinker knows that causes serious hang overs.
Campari is an Italian alcoholic liqueur obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water.
To mix that with a quality sparkling wine sounds like a vomit inducing headache to me.
Sounds like something Ha Ha Hairy would drink for a Christmas drink.

Ruin?

Spritz Veneziano is a classic drink, With Campari, Aperol or Select.

Haven't you had it in Venice at sunset? Thousands do daily.

beer

I prefer Picon, which of course in France is traditionally mixed with beer.
