It's a lie. Nobody had "risen". Once you die, you are dead. Forever.

Quoting from prb.org/articles/how-many-people-have-ever-lived-on-earth/

...resulting in an estimate that about 117 billion members of our species have ever been born on Earth.

So, out of 117 billion, only one person "has risen". Talk about the odds...It's like matching your own DNA sample.

Other than that, what does "has risen" mean? Has risen and gone where? Has he left the earth? If so, where is he now?
Atch 22 | 4,135

only one person "has risen".

Two, actually.
johnny reb 48 | 7,142
17 Apr 2022 #9
Three, actually.
I was taught and believe that the way in which Jesus ascended to heaven was different from the way in which Enoch and Elijah ascended to heaven.

Jesus ascended into the fullness of heaven in his new, resurrected body, whereas Enoch and Elijah ascended to heaven in their earthly bodies.

Two, actually.

Your grandma? OK, so it's two out of 117 billion. The odds just doubled. Wow!
Anyway, those who have risen, where did they go? I would like to know if it's worth it for me to repent and hope for a better outcome?

BTW, how high above the sea level is Heaven? Also, was the law of gravity suspended for the occasion for all or just those "ascending"?
Atch 22 | 4,135

Three, actually.

I wasn't counting the chaps from the Old Testament. I was thinking of our friend 'arise, take up they bed and walk', Lazarus.

Anyway, those who have risen, where did they go?

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,

I see a discontinuity here...Jesus dies on the cross. He is buried. He rises from his grave and goes to Heaven. Then I read that he is buried on earth again.

What's up with that? Was that ascension just the first leg of a round trip to Heaven and back? If so, how long did he stay there and why did he decide to come back? Was he a refugee?
Atch 22 | 4,135

I read that he is buried on earth again.

Where did you read that?? I think you're getting a bit mixed up with your understanding of the Apostle's Creed. Back to Sunday School for you - oh hang on, you're supposed to be a Catholic so ............... fill in the missing part of the sentence.
Novichok 4 | 8,109

Where did you read that?

news.artnet.com/art-world/jesus-burial-site-older-than-we-thought-1163408

Quoting:

New scientific testing adds credence to the long-held belief that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem is the final resting place of Jesus Christ.

It seems that the originators of the ascension theory didn't think things through. How else can you explain going to Heaven and then being buried in Jerusalem unless Jerusalem is Heaven?

Another unanswered question: When ordinary people go to Heaven, are they "ascending" the way Jesus did, or do they get there some lesser way?

How else can you explain going to Heaven and then being buried in Jerusalem

Being deliberately obtuse again I see. It doesn't say anything about human remains.

Another unanswered question

Like I said Novi, back to Sunday School for you, but wait! What's wrong with that sentence? Now remember, you were raised in the Catholic faith so............ fill in the missing words.

@Atch
Novi/Walt/Moscow Rose always wants things scientifically explained to him or he gets confused.
Scientists say the universe is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons.
They forgot to mention morons.

It doesn't say anything about human remains.

OK, where are his remains according to the dogma or in reality?

@johnny reb
Neutrons are indefinitely small, electrons indefinitely fast, protons indefinitely thick and morons indefinitely...hollow?

OK, scientists. how high above the sea level is Heaven? While you are at it, how far is Hell? I would like to know how to get dressed and how much food I will need for the trip.

OK, scientists

It is amaSSing on your part to attempt to combine science with faith. These two come from two different worlds. Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world."

how far is Hell?

In your case, sooner than later. hahahaha

Sorry, that was a joke. :):):)

@Novichok; how far is Hell?
Not so far. Hell on Earth is in Mariupol now.

In your case, sooner than later. hahahaha

My dear sweet child, "far" refers to distance. "Sooner or later" is about time. You should know this as a teacher.
Distance and time are different concepts and connected only if you know the speed. So, how long does it take to end in Heaven, and at what speed does one travel to it?

such a beautiful thread on such a scared day for so many.

Hey, keep your religious beliefs private and nobody will trash your "scared" thread. Once you hang it out, don't be shocked to see poop on it.

Did you know that every single sentence about Christianity is a lie? From creation to what happens when we die and everything in between.

It's a lie. Nobody had "risen". Once you die, you are dead. Forever

Well, these christians believe that he rose from the dead.
But what did he do next?
He died again.......

Not according to most Christian teaching.

Hey, keep your religious beliefs private

Oh, so now you are running my life for me.
I will express my religious beliefs all I want to and there isn't anything you can do about it is there, Moscow Rose.
I know it makes Satan just tremble when I use the words, JESUS CHRIST, dunnit.
Too bad for you, Walt. Boo Hoo Hoo
We don't mock you for splashing around in your pig slop, do we ?
So blow it out your ear you dumb Polock.
You smell of sulfur.

My dear sweet child, "far" refers to distance. "Sooner or later" is about time.

No, honey, far is an adjective which can be graded into farther or further, and the latter combines both distance and time. It is obvious you never dealt with grammar theory of adjectives. :):)

Distance and time are different concepts

No, sugar, they are the same when Jesus is involved. Simple.

how long does it take to end in Heaven,

Now talking only about Heaven? Where did you lose Hell? Too forgetful? Take some meds for better memory, then. :):):):)

Look, one day you will see it with your own eyes. :):):)

Novichok 4 | 8,109

In your case, sooner than later. hahahaha

and the latter combines both distance and time

No, dear, "sooner or later" is about time. "I am late" does not mean location.
So, how far is Heaven? Use any unit of measure you want.

Now talking only about Heaven? Where did you lose Hell?

I didn't forget Hell because Hell is on earth, according to another poster.

It's shocking how little information is available about the place where everybody wants to go. Not just yet, anyway...
