We got points....whew....πŸ˜…

From the public! :) You got more points from people than a few other songs, as far as I remember, so congrats! πŸ‘

Slava Uktaini!

That was a huge vote from the public! :O :D
❀️

And congrats to the UK for the second place! :D πŸ‘

congrats!

....still....it's time to change a system that is so obviously not working in Germany (and shoot the responsible)😎

But that was such a clear vote from the whole of Europe for Ukraine!!!! YES! :)

Abit sad for the "Space Man" though....in every other contest the UK would have won with that....he was good!

I actually feel sorry for Ukrainians, they aren't even aware of what they're doing to them. Just as we were not aware at that time in Yugoslavia during our war.

Ewan Spence from the Eurovision Insight Podcast told the Guardian from Turin that "throughout the week, the singers, the broadcasters, the community have proudly stood with Kalush Orchestra and Ukraine. This will always stand as a victory at Eurovision; but it means so much more. It is the grandest gesture of love to the people of Ukraine from every single corner of every single country in Europe and beyond."

I think it depends on the taste, tbh, that song wasn't my favourite... But he was good, I agree :)

I actually feel sorry for Ukrainians

Members of Kalush Orchestra looked very happy :)

The European Song Contest will be held at Azovstal, Mariupol in 2023.

Thanks. Amazing really, and I didn't even like the song much.

change a system that is so obviously not working in Germany

The BBC did change their system this time. It was seen very much as a last chance saloon after a lot of public criticism.

Mind you, I did like the Germany entry, not only for the music. The Guardian called it half Ed Sheehan and half Eminem He should have done better and would have if he'd gone shirtless.

What I'll remember most from this apart from the results is the Norwegian group wearing gimp masks.

ukraine-wins-2022-eurovision

That means that Russia won 50%. Because 50% of today's Ukraine will be Russia in a year.

....and Germany will get 12 points from everybody! πŸ€“

That means that Russia won 50%.

Nope. Those were Ukrainian musicians, singing in Ukrainian and incorporating beautiful Ukrainian folklore into the song and costumes and they were respresenting Ukraine.

Because 50% of today's Ukraine will be Russia in a year.

No, it won't be.

..and Germany will get 12 points from everybody! πŸ€“

;D
BB, maybe your time will come - look at the UK! :D

- Won the Eurovision Song Contest

- Lost 75% of GDP in one year

YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!! πŸ˜ƒ

But how is thinking our Bratwurst, it is a fair exchange for him and the Ukrainians.
Paulina  16 | 4352
15 May 2022   #223
@Crnogorac3, it isn't any "exchange", people of Europe simply have shown that their hearts are with Ukraine.

- Lost 75% of GDP in one year

45%
And Russia is doing that to Ukraine.

Zelensky address the crowd during the break?

One thing's for certain.... Pootin won't.

Russia's international brand has sunk below zero (except among authoritarians and/or fascists).

Thought experiment. Drop Pootin on any random street corner in Europe (outside of fascist Serbia and/or Hungary)... how long does he survive?

Funny thread on Russian media meltdown about Eurovision (which no one cares about and is stupid and they don't want to take part in anyway and they never sent their biggest stars and they don't care and maybe they'll revive their own song contest!)

twitter.com/irgarner/status/1525482730699509762

triva:

number of times Ukraine has won Eurovision.... 3

number of times Russia has won Eurovision... 1

number of winning Eurovision songs partly or completely in Ukrainian.... 2

number of winning Eurovision songs partly or completely in Russian.... 0

Russian media meltdown

Their media is basically one long meltdown now. And Ukraine did pretty well in the contest. Even without the popular vote they were near the top of the leaderboard.

maybe they'll revive their own song contest

The great orc bake off?

Zelensky address the crowd during the break? Play something on the piano?

Why not? He won Dancing with the Stars and had a bit TV show, so why not Eurovision.

Such a contrast to that psycho prancing twΓ‘t who poses for pictures on horseback..

That would be something. Playing with penis on Eurovision.

Isn't that something that had already happened?

or a Novogrod republic?

We have a problem, 12 points of contencion between Poland and Ukraine.
Paulina  16 | 4352
15 May 2022   #231
@Alien, what do you mean?

New video clip to the winning "Stefania" by Kalush Orchestra has been released. Unfortunately Ukrainians didn't need a film set to make this video - it was filmed in Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka and Hostomel :(:

Typical Eurovsion crap, they like it for some reason. That song wasn't for me.

Won the Eurovision Song Contest

Hey Crnogorac3 what ae you doing here? should you be in Ukrainie? Digging trenches or some other work like that.
In fact it is question for all Russian supporters here - what are you doing here? Go and join Russian army they need boots on the ground. Help there, don't stay where you are and write crappy posts, you are much needed on the front. What is wrong with you? Are you cowards? Hypocrites? Is that it?

0 points for Poland from the Ukrainian jury.

To be fair, the song was depressing sh1t. He has a good voice, however he didn't have a good song.

Sort of the opposite of Lithuania.

it was filmed in Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka and Hostomel

Powerful, tragic and absolutely right to do.

Music often speaks louder than words.

Btw:

What is wrong with you? Are you cowards?

Those female soldiers in "Stefania" aren't just for show - Ukrainian army has one of the biggest percentage of female soldiers among European armies.

I mean 0 points for Poland from the Ukrainian jury.

Ah, yeah, when I congratulated one Ukrainian guy who's in Ukraine for the Eurovision win he started apologising to me for the Ukrainian jury vote, he wrote that he feels ashamed, etc. To be fair it's supposed to be a music contest and quite a few of other juries gave Poland 0 points.

Polish song got 12 points from the Ukrainian public in televoting though - it was the only country that gave us the highest vote, noone else did it and that's what matters the most to me! :)))

@jon357, I liked the Polish song, not only Ochman's voice! I've also watched people's reactions to Ochman's performance and many people loved the song :)) But I can understand that it can be not to everyone's taste :)

Music often speaks louder than words.

Yup. I've watched many reactions from different parts of the world to "Stefania" performed on the stage, but there are also first reactions to the new video clip - it looks like this guy understood everything well:

@BB, LOL!

Btw, it turns out that those 12 points given by the Polish jury to Ukraine were cancelled (together with the vote of 6 other countries)! Apparently because the Polish jury's choice was deemed not objective, but political:

globalhappenings.com/entertainment/179343.html

I don't think that's fair, considering that there are countries that vote for each other on Eurovision on regular basis and noone does anything about it (?)... So why punish countries giving 12 points to Ukraine all of a sudden?

Also, one judge from the Ukrainian jury said she gave 10 points to Polish song and so she doesn't understand why Poland got 0 points from Ukraine:

pudelek.pl/eurowizja-2022-ukrainska-jurorka-pokazuje-ze-dala-polsce-10-punktow-jestesmy-szczerze-wdzieczni-polskiemu-rzadowi-i-ludziom-za-wszystko-co-dla-nas-robia-6769170155338624a?fbclid=

I can't say I care about this whole drama though, I'm just happy that Ukraine won :) And in my opinion it was a deserved win, because I honestly love this song! ❀️

Against my better judgement, I actually watched the end of this show.
And quite enjoyed it!
Caught about five full performances, including the UK entry and then saw clips of all the others.
Yes, as usual, there was a lot of rubbish,.
Especially that Nazi looking Serbian woman with facial warts,....urgh....
But I have to say that overall there was a big increase in the quality of music.
Yes, it was still politically motivated voting, but not always.
And we all knew Ukraine would win, but hey, I thought they had the best song anyway!
The best moment for me was when Ukraine gave the UK 12 points.
Both countries United against the Russian bully.
