Eurovision - Today I will be ashamed to be Polish

After a few days and after the emotions have died down I come to the conclusion that the best song at Eurovision was the Estonian song. They should have won. I'm currently listening to it every now and then.

Edit:

This version in #571 is not the ESC version. The arrangement of the performance on ESC was even better with a girl from the audience dancing with Cash and a plane flapping its wings. Yes, this song is a brilliant hit.

sick bastard Goebbels

I thought you loved him...for his eloquence and for not liking illegal migrants. 🤔

for his eloquence and for not liking illegal migrants.

I do. Now what?

Let me try again...

Eurovision - a sick bastard whom my idol Goebbels would be proud to adopt ...

Better now?

Better now?

He was an idiot, he killed his own children.

He was an idiot, he killed his own children.

It was his lovely wife - aka "mommy dearest"...

Quoting:

According to Kunz's later testimony, he gave the children morphine injections but Magda Goebbels ... administered the cyanide.

And so it was on mine. Tommy Cash is the most listened to by listeners in all of Europe. Well, unlike the howling of others, his song is a song.

Dude, the song has something like a three note range and he's a two note 'singer'... It's a novelty record... good for him to get a continent-wide hit but there's no way it should actually be that high in a contest devoted to.... you know..... songs....

Still, it was enough to be the biggest hit from this year's ESC. At least for now.

As good a place for this as any....

russia, bvtthurt about being kicked out of Eurovision decided to revive a short-lived soviet song contest called Intervision.... which was, among other things, supposed to support traditional family values....

A total of 23 countries (including the US for some reason) signed up.

then... a few days before the competition, the US entrant (One Brandon Howard... I'd never heard of him either.... withdrew) citing family concerns. Rumor was that he had been paid to enter. The song was pretty dreadful.

then last minute an Australian-Greek singer, Vassy, I'd never heard of her either, was announced as a replacement.... only problem is that she's an advocat for lgbt (etc) rights. that information was scrubbed from her wikipedia page (she had a wikipedia page?!) and then just before the contest she withdrew citing political pressure from Australia

then russian regime nazi-singer Shaman (whose song had impressed no one) after performing asked the judges to not award him any points.... as if he'd get any points....

When the dust settled, the winner was Vietnam! Whose performer is named Duc Phuc (make your own joke) whose song was a bit.... similar to this year's winning Eurovision song (not super close but... some similarities).

To make matters more funny.... he's extremely androgynous and makes your average kpop guy look like Jason Momoa in comparison.... if he's heterosexual then I'm Ronald Reagan's illegitimate son....

Next year's contest is set for Saudi Arabia....

Dire, wasn't it.

after performing asked the judges to not award him any points.... as if he'd get any points....

Apparently the points system for judging was particularly opaque. 'Scientific' is what the r*SSians called it.

Duc Phuc (make your own joke

Do people say "fúck a duck" where you're from? It's a little old fashioned down my way, something that granny would have said in 1925 but still quite funny.
