Coup in South Korea

Looks like a coup is in progress in South Korea.

The right wing president cant get his political agenda endorsed by parliament, his wife and a number of henchmen are under investigation for various things including corruption. The president has declared martial law. The president's own ruling party and the main opposition have both denounced the presidents actions in other words he (the president) has manufactured a coup that the military and police seem willing to go along with.

Was the Polish decision to purchase weapons from there a wise decision, if the coup continues will the freedom loving west slap sanctions on South Korea?

As far as I remember, S Koreans were treated in a similar way in 1980s. I can recall those protests and street fights against the regime covered extensively on Polish communist TV with the subliminal message - look, our country ruled by general`s junta isn `t so bad after all. :):):)

This coup will fail. In the same way, PiS` coup would have failed if our rightists had tried to implement it. Democracy has gone too far to be abolished so easily.

Democracy has gone too far to be abolished so easily.

This means that soldiers won`t shoot at citizens coz they were brought up in accordance with democratic standards.
In result, the coup organisers will soon be arrested and tried.

Looks like Ireland has a migrant invasion in progress.

May I suggest that you adjust your binoculars to see closer objects better?

I sincerely hope that NK will invade SK and relieve the US of another spot where somebody needs free military care from the world's dumbest cop.

Korea has already assured that the implementation of arms contracts with Poland is not at risk.

Back to the good ol' days of Pak Chung Hee, are we.
He was finally assassinated in the '70's sometime. How about this guy?

Excellent point but doubtful.
Korea has already assured that the implementation of arms contracts with Poland is not at risk.

Look at what it has done to the companies stocks that rely on computer chips from S.K.
This could have huge ramifications for Poland on arms contracts from not only S.K. but also the U.S.

This is a materialistic consumerist approach!!! Communist materialism is widespread in North Korea. I was asking about Goddesses aka religious figures who matter to South Koreans. There must be some.

Thank heavens it was thwarted! That's all we need is for one of America's staunchest
allies in the region to decide to go rogue on us...again.

It's all mindless slogans anyways. I'm not going to judge what is better for the SK.

@Milo, all I meant was that apparently, South Korea's president
remains in power and is not likely to be ousted, nothing more.

SK is not our "ally". They are our military welfare recipients and parasites. Quoting:

The United States has over 80,000 troops deployed in Japan and South Korea. We found that U.S. forces help strengthen alliances, promote a free and open Indo-Pacific region, provide quick response to emergencies, and are essential for U.S. national security.

The United States incurs costs to achieve these benefits. From 2016 through 2019, the Department of Defense spent roughly $20.9 billion in Japan and $13.4 billion in South Korea to pay military salaries, construct facilities, and perform maintenance. The governments of Japan and South Korea also provided $12.6 billion and $5.8 billion, respectively, to support the U.S. presence.

How much do Japs and SKs spend to protect the US?

Fvcking ZERO.

But generally speaking all Koreans are nice people.

They are the cheapest ppl Ive ever met around Chicago. No contractor will ever do any work for them. Everyone knows not to buy beer from any Korean liquor store bc they wont turn the cooler/refrigerator on... And they are the worst drivers imaginable, most of them cant see over the steering wheel...lol

Trump should bring them all home. Its been too many years already, let them secure their own border.. Make the DMZ along the Texas border!

Because your pickups are too big. If they drove a small Kia they would see everything.

Because your pickups are too big.

They cant parallel park at all and always drive 10 mph under the speed limit. Its like theyre in a constant state of panic, take the bus already!

always drive 10 mph under the speed limit

They probably want to show and teach unruly Americans how to drive in accordance with the road law. :):):)
