I have no doubts whatsoever. A blessed event is indeed just that and no amount of pride can squelch a new dad from providing only the very best for his child, above all, the gift of language:-) As a native English speaker yourself, I'm sure you'll be a fine teacher as well!

No, your child gets citizenship. Once the UK leaves the EU they will remove abuses of system, because thats what half of the population voted for. A requirement to speak English was added quite recently- its a red line.

He has to PROVE he has lived here for 5 years, with restrictions on when he was out of the UK. a record of dates in and out is required.

Has to have good character (referees required), no criminal record and paid all taxes etc.
Has to pass the English test unless he is over 65 or brain damaged.

Then he can get citizenship. Being the father of your child isn't relevant as you aren't even married. After Brexit, I expect we would leave/dump the EHR (European Human Rights) so any rights would entirely up to the UK government.

And the one thing that will block citizenship and the right to stay is not speaking English - because it stops you taking part in and contributing to British society.
