@mafketis

You obviously don't understand and can't properly comprehend historic Serbian - Russian relations. Serbs have not made it exactly a secret that they support Russia in the war in Ukraine as they consider the Russians as their brothers.

Polish media seems to be very pessimistic: "Lech to lose against Zvezda?"

This pessimistic headline from the Poles is certainly somewhat surprising.

Crvena Zvezda is the favorite over the two legs, but at the "Enea" stadium, a "hot" home field, in front of about 40,000 fiery fans, they will have to do their best to defeat Niels Frederiksen's team.

The match in Poznan is scheduled for 20:30, while the second leg is in Belgrade in six days.

Lech to lose against Zvezda?"

"Lech strąci Czerwoną Gwiazdę" has a different meaning.

Good game by Crvena but modern football is highly retarded: Champion of Poland - 4 Poles in the starting 11, Champion of Serbia - 1 Serb (one!) in the starting 11. What's the point? How can fans even identify with such "Polish" and "Serbian" teams where Poles and Serbs are in minority in starting elevens?

Gazprom fixed the game. 😀

where Poles and Serbs are in minority in starting elevens?

Club football is about putting the best team on field that you can afford, so I'm not sure if it's retarded. However, there is something about having homegrown talent heavily represented on the roster. The MLS rules say only a certain percentage of roster can be non-American. Is there such in Ekstraklasa?

Gazprom

State-owned company subsidizing a foreign football club (plus heavy subsidies from Serbian state-owned companies). Pensioners on sh*t money, atrocious health service, under-financed education, but state subsidizing Brazilian and Angolan football players xD.

As I said - modern football is retarded.

As for foreigners in Ekstraklasa: maximum of 2 non-EU can be fielded in the first 11. EU nationals are not even considered foreign. xD

Instead of fighting in pubs with Ukrainians or Poles couldn't they show their love for North Nigeria by volunteering for a stint in the muddy trenches of Pokrovsk, with a crappy 1950s rifle ?

EU nationals are not even considered foreign. xD

A-ha, so you can have as many Swedes with Swedish sounding names like Ishkar as you want.

That is correct. A creative owner can have a club consisting only of Bulgarians or the Irish if he wishes - from the football point of view they are not foreigners in Ekstraklasa. xD

@Torq

But those players should assimilate, change names to McCloskeyowski, Sullivaniak.

Tour de Pologne

Yesterday, three cyclists from the Tour de Pologne got into the elevator I was riding with. We only rode two floors together, so there was no conversation. I wonder if the one who had the serious accident yesterday was among them? 🤔
