Monitor 14 | 1,820 4 Nov 2014 #1Poland scored 31th place in Legatum prosperity ranking. It's better than it's GDP suggests. Above: Italy, Cyprus, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Chile. In past 5 years Poland was ranked between 28 and 34th place.Sub indices:41 Economy40 Entrepreneurship & Opportunity39 Governance31 Education33 Health24 Safety & Security58 Personal Freedom47 Social CapitalThis ranking shows that health in Poland is better than Polish spending on health (perhaps because there are few richer countries with older population). Poland scores high in Safety, but low in Personal Freedom, as they ask there if Poland is good place for immigrants - the country which provides immigrants, not take them. Social capital is relatively low especially because low donation rate.prosperity.com/#!/country/POL
Levi_BR 6 | 219 4 Nov 2014 #2Interesting ranking... I agree that Poland is a prosperous country BUT i saw some weird things looking to another countries.Example: My country (Brazil) is, at the ranking, considered safer than Israel. What a BS. Besides the tentatives of Hamas to drop some missiles there, i am pretty sure that almost any part of Brazil (exception to few cities at the south/southeast) is more violent than the more violent part of Israel.
OP Monitor 14 | 1,820 4 Nov 2014 #3Problem with Israel is, that the country is so tiny, that it's hard to find a save place where bombs could not reach. And there is so much hassle about the small Israel. It's even smaller than Crimea which Russians conquered recently. There could fit nearly 1 000 of Israels in the territory of Russia.
jon357 72 | 20,989 4 Nov 2014 #447 Social CapitalI read this last night and thought of posting - great minds think alike. That sad thing is the Social Capital score (defined as " strong familial bonds, charitable intent and high levels of trust") is so low.

Marsupial - | 886 5 Nov 2014 #6There is no doubt Poland is improving every year, it just takes time to overcome 50 years of communist neglect and pillage. It will keep on improving.
