What Poland can't do right

It does (providing they agree),

Oh, I thought that you get excommunicated (aka get the boot) when you get a civil divorce. Isn't the membership in the church important for Poles anymore?

Oh, I thought that you get excommunicated (aka get the boot) when you get a civil divorce.

That's still true.

But the catholic church has always offered divorces. Until the seventies they were issued by the Vatican only, and were largely for the rich - especially for rich Italians and Austrians. Now, every diocese has a Diocesan Marriage Tribunal. Such divorces are very popular in Poland.

Though civil divorce is a relatively minor sin, and a blind eye is often turned. That and the fact that in a big parish, the priest often doesn't know everyone's life history.

Interesting, I didn't know that.

Some friends of mine got a church divorce in the UK. It requires a fuller explanation of circumstances than in a civil divorce, there's always a meeting with a 'defender of the bond' whose role is to try to discourage the divorce, but church divorces are usually granted. The 'defender of the bond' is largely a symbolic role. One of the most common reasons is that the couple is too young, and one or both of them are considered to have been emotionally immature.

Also, a church marriage is null and void if the bride or groom has witnesses to them saying that they don't want to do it, are being coerced, have huge doubts, etc., just before the ceremony. In those cases a marriage can be anulled, but that generally needs approval from the Vatican. Again, usually given.

I don't understand why should I tell what's wrong with Poland.I didn't noticed any thread of that kind about any other country(maybe I've missed something?).Even if some things are not as good as in other countries it doesn't matter because this is the place where I want to live.

Youve missed two things:

1. This is a Polish Forum
2. There are other threads about problems with many other countries

I'm sorry for my mistake:D I didn't noticed that treads earlier. However I still think it's quite useless. This thread is not about some problems or ways to solve it.Maybe I would react differently if this was something like "I'm moving to Poland what problems can I expect".As for now I don't see the point.

It is not nice to talk about people poor English. You are teacher and you should know better.

Look around lot of people in forum do not write English well. I look at this way, they need our ideas, helps, learn our cultures and friendships.

This is Holiday and we shouldn't be upset about mistreating by people of Polish Forum, boyfriends or girlfriends. Don't get upset if you lose your jobs. Hopefull 2010 will be better for all of you.

I am here to help you not getting desperate and commit suides or go jump to lake. We all have to live with it. Without males or females. Don't forget there is alway someone better than old one. Be positives, be honest and concentrate your job also.

Be Strong and be firm. Don't be so cold to people.

I do wishes you all well and be happy in coming of New Year 2010. May God Bless You All!

Well, sorry birdy but you have happened to pick on me for studying. Now this was a stupid thing to do. Just because you are not educated yourself, it doesn't mean you are free to throw insults at people who put some effort into expanding new horizons rather than, what you seem to be good at, sitting and criticising Polish women and dwelling on what they wear. Get over this, you must be working in an environment full of manual workers (not as if there was something wrong with manual workers but you get this certain type of a person who's against education itself) so please, don't be surprised you get vain girls there - this has nothing to do with their nationality. In fact, you are filled with envy and you spreading your pathetic comments about Polish women is a proof itself that it's you who knows nothing about the world. Now, tell me, because I just can't wait to hear, where you are from.

Thats very nasty, i really liked her English, it was almost like talking to a real Polish person. I think many Poles stay away from this forum through lack of excellent written english, they should not be afraid, except from people like you of course.

Now, tell me, because I just can't wait to hear, where you are from.

Wow you Polish birds really have your heads up your arse sometimes.

my thoughts exactly, at least we have one person on the board saying nice things about Poland and it's lovely women lol. happy new year!! ;)

I am here to help you not getting desperate and commit suides or go jump to lake.

hey misses, as much as i enjoy deciphering your English i just have to point out that by your negative comments you are not exactly solving this situation. not everybody, and i dare say probably the majority of people on here, shares your views on Polish women. young people today do all sorts of silly things and wear all sorts of funny clothes, regardless of their sex and nationality. you're a mature lady, so if you're trying to be 'hip' then please stop nagging.

Polish people cannot make an acceptable quality yellow cheese. We have to import it from Switzerland or the Netherlands which in turn we cannot really afford.

Polish' fish is supposed to be the best

-Last time I checked, fish don't have ethnicities. Best seafood and fish I ever had was in Spanish cuisine

Polish Pizza too

-No...

Polish Beer

-Very good stuff, but I still prefer German and Czech beer. Less bitter.

Polish girls

-Polish girls are gorgeous, no doubt.

Polish Bread

-Polish bread is very tasty, but far from the best

Polish milk

-I tried milk in Germany, tastes exactly the same. Actually, all the milk I tried in Europe tastes the same. Probably because there is no preservatives in it, I don't know

Polish Scientists

-In the past, they had some well known scientists, but not in the present

Polish programmers

-Not sure about that one.

Polish strong men

-Apart from Pudzilla, I can't think of any other ones.

Polish immigrants

-Great! But there are good and bad immigrants from every country.

POlish hairdressers

-No clue

I honestly wouldn't know about Polish goat cheese, but I do think the Greek have a monopoly on Feta already?

That would be sheep cheese. Besides Denmark exports tons cow milk Feta which basically is a blasphemy as it is so inferior to the mediterranean (sheep) verity. By decent goat cheese I mean like French goat cheese yummm
