Germany eyes Poland's economic miracle

Poland is doing really well!

No, it's not.

Annual income per capita:

Poland - 19.9
Lithuania - 25.0
Latvia - 22.6
Germany - 54.8
UK - 47.7
US - 80.4

Poles make one quarter of the US income and pay the same prices for durables, travel, and hotels...

Somehow, I don't see any of that Polish econ miracle...

Completely daft use of statistics by Novi

He is comparing US GDP per head at PPP with Polish ex PPP

In fact if we talk about buying power then the difference us between 82k in the US and 43k in Poland

But inequalities in the US are higher and hardly anyone has free healthcare, college education is ruinous and the US have less holidays

No doubt the US is richer but on quality of life the gap is much narrowr

Definitely.

Also, in Poland the chance of your child dying in a school shooting is significantly lower, as well as the chance of them becoming a drug addict or contracting HIV (not to mention drowning under a mountain of medical bills or graduating from university with a ton of debt). All in all, I would say that at the moment Poland is one of the best places in the world to live, and in 15-20 years time it is very likely that it will be the best place in terms of quality of life. Give intelligent people freedom, and that's what they do with it - they build a paradise.

The deciding factors in case of Poles are: diligence, thrift, self-discipline and overal cleanliness and order. We are the Germans/Swiss of the 21st century. :)

Annual income per capita, not GDP.

Average US income is 66k USD or 62k if you use the median (which you should consider, considering the inequalities and unfairness of American Society.).

Why is it that Maga types can never get any numbers correct and then call everyone else morons ?

Average income by country

The worldwide highest income is earned in Monaco. The smallest budget per capita exists in Burundi. In our comparison over 210 countries, the USA comes 7th with an average income of 80,450 USD.

The average gross annual wage per full-time employee in the USA was $80,116 in 2023, or around $6,676 per month ($3,115/year more than in the previous year).

Argue with them:

And you argue with your own government's figures

sofi.com/learn/content/average-salary-in-us/

And your Polish figure is wrong too - works out at 35 zloty per hour. You try hiring someone for that these days. Maybe out in a small village it's possible.

Average is not the same as average per full-time employee...

According to:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_average_wage

US - 80k

Poland - 40k

Ok - so double and not 4x as you originally stated

And then you need to make the adjustments for quality of life, healthcare, holidays, etc.

America is richer than Poland. No one's arguing with that. But small town, South Carolina or falling down Steubenville, Ohio is no paradise. What is more? Poland is advancing rapidly
