they're bowing to threats from the FCC

The FCC does not threaten. They just suspend a license if the station does not follow FCC rules.

US airwaves are public property and are leased if you meet certain conditions.

Try to operate a station in London saying "Muslims are UK's cancer" every five minutes...

I don't need to guess

Yes, you can just read the words of the head of the FCC:
"Frankly, when you see stuff like this - I mean, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there's going to be additional work for the F.C.C. ahead."

We can ban all progressive and Marxist ideologies and authorities because they are proven to be against the right to free speech. Some of them pretend, and some do not even try to pretend anymore. They are like extremists or Muslims; as soon as their numbers appear substantial enough, or the circumstances seem favorable, they attempt to strip people of their rights, including free speech and the right to self-defense.

Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate such threats to freedom and our country. After all, only those who sincerely embrace the values of our great nation can be a part of it.

How can you 'ban' an ideology?

they attempt to strip people of their rights, including free speech

'By 'banning' an ideology?

I mean, we can do this the easy way or the hard way

Looks like the trumpists don't like free speech.

We love free uninterrupted speech. That's why we hire guys with guns to keep leftist morons from acting like leftist morons. Kirk's only fault: He was religious and good and thought everybody else is religious and good...

I am not religious and I assume that everybody is evil or a moron or both ...until proven otherwise...

@Lazarus

You can simply read the statements from the head of the FCC.

However, the question still stands: why do you struggle to understand the difference between government actions and the actions of businesses protecting their own interests? I hope you're more insightful than Golden Moran and not suggesting that President Trump interfered.
