How will Poland do in Euro 2024

For the Dutch Frenkie De Jong OUT for the championship.

I'm just looking, the entire best midfield is out for the Dutch - De Jong, De Roon and Wieffer. And last week, during the warm-up, Koopmeiners was also injured. Ugly.

This is great news for Poland.

....still....no Lewandowski!

they also closed the Reeperbahn for the fans! Nor party there anymore....

Not good. It's seedy however I like its retro appeal. Some of the streets off it where German boomers go to drink beer and dance to Schlager music are nicer. That and Rote Flora.

The guy the police shot looks like a Dutch fan. The speed they reacted should serve as a warning to Serbian 'ultras'

Gelsenkirchen

I doubt it would make much difference. And the other side are out on a limb too.

It appears to be a rather large crowd... Too early for beer over here😏

large crowd

Both teams' fans live within driving distance. And of course it's summer.

Unlucky deflection, 1-1 HT.

We will have to postpone making orange marmalade for the second half. ;)

Last 12 games between Poland and Holland the Dutch are undefeated with 7 wins and 5 draws.

Yeah, yeah - thank you for this irrelevant piece of useless statistics, Crno. Now shut up.

@BB

Exactly. I stick to my 3-1 Poland prediction. :)

In the very eventful first half Holland vs. Poland:

Holland had 66% possession of the ball compared to Poland's 34%.

Holland had 14 shots on goal and 5 corner kicks compared to Poland's 1.

Let's see what adjustments Poland's coach Michał Probierz can make in the second half.

But our corner actually mattered :)

....it's a nail biter!

The Dutchies have surely counted that three points in....

That polish goalie is really classy!

Poland almost equalized. What a chance for Świderski.

These are dramatic moments for both sets of fans. Anxiety and hope.

:(

That's football for Polish fans... always a heartbreak in the end.

However, it has to be said that for all the sh*ite that some Dutch were talking before the game (e.g. de Zeeuw who said that "Poland can't play football" and that "Netherlands could win this game even without a goalkeeper") they generally failed to impress.

Oh, well... two more games left in the group. C'MON POLAND!!!

Still...heads up Poles, that was a good game, the Dutchies thought that would be easier!

.....and next game will be with Lewandowski again! He could make the decisive difference which was missed today....

We have to win the game against Austria on Friday. Here's hoping.

Poland is still top of the group!

Things change fast.

Hopefully it will be a better result against Austria.

After the game the Polish coach went to the Dutch bench to shake hands with Koeman (even though the Dutch coach accused Probierz of lying about Lewandowski's injury earlier). Koeman looked at Probierz with condescension and lightly shook his hand without even standing up. Class - one thing that you just can't buy.

At least I now have a team to cheer against in this tournament :)

Well, let's see what happens with Serbian TV sets after the game against England today. ;)

If you approach armed policemen and threaten them with an axe and a molotov, then don't be surprised if you get shot. Simple as that.

As far as I know the man was shot in his leg and is recovering in a hospital now. The police spokesperson said that the event had nothing to do with football.

Serbian ultras have already arrived in Germany.

The English are miffed at the town they are placed in, Gelsenkirchen....maybe that will help the Serbs? ;)

Serbia vs. England match has already begun outside the stadium. No wonder the German police has labelled this as a high risk match.

The son of the President of Serbia Danilo Vučić is there but his security entourage led by the Cobras doesn't allow him to get in on the action. They had to restrain him.
