How will Poland do in Euro 2024

It's that time again. Poland's first match is in a week's time (Sunday 16/6) against The Netherlands. The next two in the group stage are against Austria and France. They won't beat France, almost certainly won't beat The Netherlands (but have a slim chance) however they may beat Austria. Here are the betting odds for the three group stage matches:

Poland to beat The Netherlands: 17/4 (5.19)
The Netherlands to beat Poland.: 61/1 (1.67)

Poland to beat Austria: 47/20 (3.45)
Austria to beat Poland: 23/20 (2.16)

Poland to beat France: 13/2 (7.85)
France to beat Poland: 7/20 (1.39)

Poland to win Group C: 14/1 (6.67)

Any variance between the normal odds and the decimal odds is due to getting them from different odds checking sites. The difference is small.

....and they have chances! :)

Germany has big problems (and England too, so I hear)......

Should the 61/1, not be 1/61@

It's that time again.

Yes, for those of us that love football this will be an interesting period.
Sadly,I don't think Poland will get past the group stage.
As for England, the British media are hyping them up as usual and even saying that this is their best chance of a win since 1966!

They will get through the group stage, but judging by their performance against Iceland, they ain't gonna win this one!

Should the 61/1, not be 1/61

Probably. The result is more or less a given.

Some of the odds look good however there's always the thing that sinks so many gamblers, that they win three bets by betting on the favourite and lose it all with one surprise result.

I don't think Poland will get past the group stage.

Same. If they do, there'll be so much celebration that they'll be fishing people out of the gutter on Nowy Swiat.

even saying that this is their best chance of a win.....judging by their performance against Iceland

The bookies think they'll win though yes, against Iceland they did nothing. It all depends on three or four players.

If only Mbappe was English rather than French...

Euro 2024

We will go on holiday by car at this time. What's annoying to me is that Germany has announced increased border controls, which means we will be stuck in traffic jams at the border.

All of you, amateurs, seem to overlook the order of games when it comes to Poland's chances.

If we can get draws against both Netherlands and Austria, and it's possible (stranger things happened in football), it should be enough to qualify. How? Simple, by the time we play France in the final game of our group the French will already have two victories and will be resting their first team before the knock-out phase. We will beat their reserves and qualify from the 2nd place (and remember that even 3rd place can be enough to qualify).

You heard it here first. Go Poland! :)

Stranger things have happened however I'd not gamble on that. Good odds though for anyone with money to waste.

It will be good if Poland does not take 5th place in the group. 😉

@Alien

Group C? I'm sure of it. In fact, I'll bet you 100zl that they'll either be in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place in their group.

Or Group D.

I guarantee they won't come 5th in the group.

I might rename the Euro 2024 as something else. Why? Because every time I type "Euro 2024" into google, it comes up on my screen as £1718.69. Thank fůck I don't get paid in Euros any more...

England Iceland 0-1 at Wembley

Sweden Serbia 0-3 in Stockholm

The reason England played Iceland in a preparation match and Serbia played against Sweden is because they're in the same group with Denmark.

It was also a farewell game for Zlatan Ibrahimović one of the legendary football players. He was born in Sweden for who he played for, his father is Bosnian mother is Croatian.

He joked with the coach of Serbia after the match by saying do you need one more player for the Euro? 😁

Serbia coach thanked him for everything he did for football.

That may be true.

Watching the paint dry

So you can beetle off and do just that while the rest of us watch the football.

No wonder Europe had so many wars. Spending 90 minutes for a 0-1 result is torture.

Football is a great war-substitute! :)

Germany against England....or Poland....or France etc. are always very serious affairs!!! :)

Better on a football pitch than a battlefield, certainly.

We also sometimes forget how so much of the rest of the world follows European football. Man U has more fans in Brazil than in Manchester and Barca has more fans in North Africa than Catalonia. Much of East Asia watches it too, probably because their own football is so crap.

Better on a football pitch than a battlefield,

Definitely! Less destructions to clean up afterwards...:)

much of the rest of the world follows European football.

....not to forget Bayern Munich!

What a wonderful gesture by the Serbian defender Nikola Milenković after the game in Stockholm.

Watching the paint dry is more fun...

Not really. This little girl will propably cherish that moment for the rest of her life.

Bayern Munich!

A popular team among some back in the day.

St Pauli has quite a following outside Germany too, probably far more than Munich.

I don't personally bother watching the Bundesliga, though when I'm in Berlin I always drink in a very traditional bar that has a lot of Hertha memorabilia on the walls.

France had a bad last "rehearsal" too....0:0 against Canada!

The so called biggies are seemingly still not in top form....there might be surprises in the coming group games! :)

1:1 - boring..
1:0 - WTF?
0:0 - let's riot

0:0 should be against the law or a full refund...

Na ja....they barely managed a win (1:0) yesterday against Bosnia-and-Herzegovina (how do these guys scrambeld a football team together in the first place???)....so....Italy is not in their prime either....yet, of course!

Nobody seems to smell the sweat-spirit of the upcoming fights....yet, of course! :)
