And you know the TK was created by the sterling, exemplary democrat Jaruzelski

Hitler built the autobahn, even psychotic idiots have the odd good idea Polo. You of all here should know about.

4th of June is celebrated in Poland as the Day of Freedom

Add the 4th of June 1992 should be marked as the day democracy died in Poland and the post-PRL backroom oligarchs took over!

Only in the minds of the easily confused who think there's something sinister in an unpopular and incompetent government losing a vote of no-confidence.

Are those derogatory names you are using for public figures in order to provoke a reaction? I'm sure we read something about doing that quite recently.

I do not wonder why. I know that there are more than a few younger people on the protest marches. But that's because I go on those marches rather than sitting at home pickling myself.

Indeed, the Polish pro-democracy rallies have a fair cross-section of people, all ages, all backgrounds. A huge contrast to the PiS government's stooge 'counter-rally' where they had to bus people in (& probably pay them too) and in fact they all sloped off to the shopping malls instead.

something siniste

The sinister thing is the result: a quarter-century of the Polish-Polish cold civil war deepening by the day.The amount of human energy, air time, newsprint and money that conflict has consumed could have been put to much better, constructive use. Instead it was used destructively to antagonise and polarise the nation and still there's no end in sight. The nachapani still want more and won't be happy until they get it. But tough luck Charlie -- there is no place for frustrtaed nitpickers, backstabbers and snitchers in good-change Poland. Might as well emigrate. Poland will be far better off for it!

with your clever word baiting

Well JohhnyReb, let's look at the facts:

- they had to be bussed in for free
- they were almost certainly 'incentives' for agreeing to be bussed in
- they all sloped off to the shopping mall rather that actually attend the demonstration

So yes, it was a PiS 'stooge' demonstration. And even that was a failure, like everything else PiS try.

Poland missed out

To advocates of libertinism it "Poland missed out". To decent-minded people "Poland was fortunately spared". All depends on one's point fo view.

dodgy connections they made during the commie era in order to purchase state-owned property f

Care ot elaborate. What dodgy connections? Which state-owned propprty? You keep banging on about this as you once did about Poles' Sunday mass attendance, but nobody knows what you're on about.

Have you seen the demonstrations organised in support of the government? Barely 200 people in Warsaw, and PiS have backed off from organising any sort of mass rally because they know that they can't attract the numbers that KOD do.

Only because the supporters of an unpopular and incompetent government refused to believe its collapse was due to its widely recognized unpopularity and incompetence.

Rather than realize their mistake in backing a bunch of incompetent boobs they (in infantile fashion) decided it had to be a conspiracy against the "true" Polish nation and began their war to return PRL conditions to Poland (which bore fruit in 2015).

began their war to return PRL conditions to Poland

The truth is that many of them understand the PRL way far better than they understand democratic Poland. For them, people being promoted on the basis of loyalty to the Party and to the Chairman is absolutely normal, as is the system of patronage. The latest proposed laws, including seizing control of private businesses if a crime is suspected (!) is straight out of the PRL playbook.

You can see it with the comments that "in 2007, there were 1500 businesses owned by the Treasury and now there's only 500" - even though most of these businesses had no right to be run by the State.

PiS won the election...at the next election PO can try and remove them.

Remember even if you have a million demonstrators, it leaves 39 million who voted against by staying at home - the silent majority. :)

By this logic the public supported Martial Law since most people voted against protesting it......

Yet more hilarity from the 18% regime. As it is now very clear that the Venice Commission is going to give a thumbs down to the PiSlamic State in which the Constitutional Court is simply ignored when it is inconvenient, our glorious leaders have thrown a strop and are now boycotting the Commission's meeting this week.

The Venice Commission, a body of legal experts within the Council of Europe, Europe's top human rights watchdog, is scheduled to meet on Friday and Saturday. Commissioners are expected to weigh in on new Polish legislation that changes the functioning of the Constitutional Tribunal, the country's top legislative court.

...

Council of Europe spokesman Panos Kakaviatos told the AP that "such a boycott is unusual for an opinion of this importance."

Can't be long now before the EU simply cuts funding to Poland and tells Chairman Kaczynski it's all on his head, especially now that both Germany and France have had enough of the 18% regime!

one can say that are pro-Serbian demonstrations in Poland also kind of defense of democracy. See, one would be right if thinks so.

i am proud with Poland, that beacon of light and freedom in Europe and world.

i fu** complete Anglo, Germanic and Romanic world. All heretic after heretic, moron after moron and imbecile after imbecile. Not to mention idiot after idiot. All k***e and g***a. Poland is place of freedom, democracy and light!

Moment when western Europe tried to meddling in Poland was grave moronic mistake. Western Europe practically willingly entered into the twilight zone of European and world politics.

Looks like yesterday's Polish pro-democracy march was a success. 25,000 people showed up outside the PIS office in Warsaw.

Should round them up, pack them on a train and send them to Kremlin as a Chiasmas gift for Putin.

KOD propoganda

The Police official figure was 5000

The BBC said it was 50,000! I'd say the real number is probably somewhere between the two extremes so Jon could well be right. Do you really believe the police give the exact figure Dolno? Sorry just realised that was the Saturday march and Jon was talking about yesterday which I saw estimated somewhere at 60,000. I don't know about that but Mr Atch couldn't get his tram home from work due to the disruptions and had a fair old walk.

on was talking about yesterday which I saw estimated somewhere at 60,000.

I am not sure if you are aware, but yesterday was the aniversary of martial law in Poland the majority were marching in rememberance of the people murdered and tortured during that period of struggle.

It is shameless of KOD leadership to choose that date to demonstrate against the government, they tried to hijack a rally for rememberance to suit their own political ends, and also claim the numbers as their own, shame on them, truly a tactic from the Soviet era.

The fact is many of the uneducated, libtard, unaware drunk kod minions on the ground probably did not know of the significace of 13th of December.

Shame on them marching their jackboots over the memory of Polish patriots heros.

One disgusted Dolno.
Atch 22 | 4,135
14 Dec 2016 #2,516
Yes I knew that Dolno. The date was definitely chosen deliberately to make a point. I think the point being made was that in their view, a generation on, democracy is under threat again,(not that Poland was a democracy then of course but you know what I mean) Poland is in danger of turning full circle and is gradually becoming a police state with a totalitarian government.

uneducated

Anyone with the most basic education should know their dates of significance to Poland's recent history in particular. Just like any low-life thicko in Ireland has heard of 1916 and broadly understands its significance, nobody in Poland should be unaware of the country's historic milestones. If they are then that's a failure of past governments and society in general.

, Poland is in danger of turning full circle and is gradually becoming a police state with a totalitarian government.

Don't worry Atch that won't happen, but what is happenig is that outside forces are trying to undermine the Polish nation and it's people, they are trying to make Poland conform to their liberal leftist ideals, and drag Poland down to their level and use it as a dumping ground.

Just look at the state of Britain, France and Germany, now riddled with crime, terrorism, corruption , banksters, racial and religious division, total sh$te holes compared to Poland.

" totalitarian government"

The Polsh people choose their government democraticaly.

At the moment they do. Who knows what the future holds? I'm not suggesting that it'll turn into a complete facist dictatorship but it could end up being a bit of a mess like Italy. Poland is not politically mature yet if you understand me. There's no reason why Poland can't be a middle ground poliitcally neither right wing nor leftie liberal but unfortunately that's not in the Polish nature I think. They like clear cut opposites.

liberal leftist ideals

Can you name even two

liberal leftist

governments in Europe?

Oh wait you can't, Europe is, for the most part, central right, or further right, this idiotic belief that liberal leftist ideals is nothing more than exactly that; idiotic

turn into a complete facist dictatorship

It won't, it'll turn into what the Blueshirts wanted in Ireland, Catho-fascism. The thing is in Ireland the blueshirts were laughed out of it and they went off the play soldiers in Spain, can't see that happening here. What is hilarious though is that Poland's been America's biatch in the EU for years and years and now with Trump cozying up to Putin the idiots in the Sejm have no idea what to think.

Trump will sell out Poland to Putin in a heartbeat, just like Roosevelt did with Stalin. Poland make the huge error of not seeking close allies within the EU; Germany, France, Italy and Spain, instead they went for being America's European biatch and cozied up to Britain, and they're leaving the party :D

It really is a wonder anyone bothers voting at all in Poland when the politicians that have been in charge over the years have been so consistently useless.
