Ha ha yes - funny

You should tell that weak joke to the mothers of the 2000 farm boys who will die between now and this meeting. That kind of humor will go down well with the bag of pelmeni

From Trump one can expect anything, he's just improvising towards a Nobel peace prize I hope he never gets, but honestly since Obama the drone butcher got one... so you never know what those morons at Stockholm can do.

the bag of pelmeni

Are they now down to just getting a bag of pelmeni? Although I suppose that that is at least less tone-deaf than the meat grinders that were being given out earlier this year.

So how did the Polish Onet get access to Trump's peace proposal to the Russians?

Was it the Polish government that leaked the contents to Onet? There is some indication that Europeans were consulted on this deal.

Looks like a sh*t deal for Ukraine:

1) Status of occupied territories to be frozen for 49 or 99 years

2) Removal of sanctions on Russia, and eventual resumption of energy trade.

Amongst the good things:

1) Russia does not object to the West continuing to arm Ukraine

2) NATO makes no promises to stop expanding

....Putin needs to meet Selensky for this (I read)....till now he refuses!

And it doesn't run under "peace treaty" but only an "armistice"! A small but important detail...

If Russia agrees to this, Russia is insane or Putin is a CIA agent.

Putin needs to meet Selensky for this (I read)....till now he refuses!

From what I understand - Putin got the meeting with Trump that he wanted.

Before, Trump was saying he would only meet Putin in a trilateral format, that would include Zelensky.

Now, that trilateral meeting is said to be scheduled for after the meeting between Trump and Putin (Rubio said this).

So it seems Putin is not categorically refusing to meet with Zelensky any longer. Just, first he wants to hammer out all the details with Trump.

-//-

Getting in front of Trump before Zelensky is very important.

My prediction is that Putin will fully "convert" Trump during their meeting, and then the pressure on Ukraine will increase to do the deal.

If Zelensky refuses, then Trump will again begin calling him a dictator without an electoral mandate and a warmonger.

To get Europe to lean on Zelensky, Trump will threaten secondary sanctions in the same way he used with India this week. Trump will announce some 25% additional tariff on European imports, to punish them for continued purchases of Russian oil and LNG.

Then Europe will begin pressuring Zelensky to accept the terms of the ceasefire as well.

Not sure how the eventual return of the energy trade is going to be enforced. European dependence on Notth Nigerian oil is for the history books - it will never go back to what it was in 2022.

Golden Cow is not really a serious person. Witkoff also very weak. Not sure why they communicated that Putler had agreed to a 3 way summit.

This thing is dead and Golden Cow will do the TACO thing when the deadline expires. He can't do the secondary sanctions thing against the EU either as it's up to individual states whether they arm Ukraine.

Getting in front of Trump before Zelensky is very important.

Agreed....Trump is special, everybody should be interested in a good personal account with him, and that only can be build face to face. If he likes you...everything is possible....if not....well....

I wonder how Putin goes about that, after all he is one used to be bowed to and slimed up to in his own Empire! But now he meets another Alpha....

My prediction is that Putin will fully "convert" Trump during their meeting,

Nothing easier...I could do it in 10 seconds....

Me as Putin: Hey, Don, remember Cuba? What would your country do if Cuba decided to get into a military pact with the USSR...bases, rockets and all that shlt...90 miles from Florida...

Trump: Oh, fvck...It would not end well for Cuba and us...Got a point, Vlad...

How long did it take?

But now he meets another Alpha....

Good luck looking for one in Western Europe where Muslims are roamig freely, raping, slashing, and slowly devouring spineless pussies...

If Russia agrees to this, Russia is insane or Putin is a CIA agent.

Nah, I think it's a nothing burger.

If the war is seen as "solved" for the next half century, or century - there's a snowball's chance in hell that Europe and America will provide Ukraine with anything even remotely resembling the hundreds of billions of dollars of arms that they sent in the past three years.

This flood will slow to a trickle, as people remember their shrinking wallets and huge debt burdens.

-//-

Regarding NATO - where is it gonna expand to?

Ukraine - they cannot take, because NATO has rules against admitting members with unresolved territorial disputes.

Finland and Sweden have already joined NATO.

Is NATO going to add Ireland, or Austria, or Switzerland? Doesn't bother us.

-//--

On the other hand - we get de facto recognition of our conquests. A good 21% of Ukraine. A territory the size of Pennsylvania, or Mississippi, or Louisiana, or Ohio, or Tennessee - or the size of three Switzerlands.

This after three years of Zelensky and Biden promising to celebrate their victory on the beach in Crimea.

Crucially - we get a lifting of sanctions.

Our economy will explode with pent up energy. The stock market will skyrocket. Exports will boom.

Within some years, even Europe is supposed to reopen the pipelines (which makes it virtually impossible for them to fulfill their promise to Trump to buy $700B of American energy).

Instead of imploding under pressure, the economy will boom. Another triumph over Biden's and Scholz's assertion that they would bury us - and that our economy would be turned to rubble.

The booming economy will attract immigrants - which should fix the labor pool and demographic issues.

Adequate labor supply will slow the inflation spiral, which is fueled largely by uncontrollable wage growth.

Reopening of export markets will refresh Russian manufacturing - which has begun to grind to a halt after fully saturating the home market.

-//-

Finally - no mention of reparations. I was afraid we might get hit with a $500 billion bill to rebuild Ukraine.

What I am guessing will happen, is that Europe will conclusively "steal" our money stored in Belgium and use that to rebuild Ukraine. That's fine - stolen money never brought anyone any joy. Karma will catch up with them one day.

I wonder how Putin goes about that, after all he is one used to be bowed to and slimed up to in his own Empire! But now he meets another Alpha....

Putin is not a child - he's a serious person and the leader of Russia.

His job is to do whatever is necessary to protect Russia's interests.

Right now - it is in Russia's interest that the president of the United States has a favorable view on our interpretation of the conflict. If this means Putin has to stroke Trump's ego, and shower him with compliments - that's what has to happen.

-//-

America is a very powerful country - and we cannot resolve this without securing their assent. "Alpha", "ego", "machismo" - doesn't matter here.

I think it's a nothing burger.

Russia enjoys talking with the US, as it imagines itself on equal footing.

All the rest is nothing but talk.

Russia enjoys talking with the US, as it imagines itself on equal footing.

America has the ability to actually get deals done.

That's why people talk to them - and not to Brussels.

If Trump promises you something - you can be reasonably confident that he has the ability to pull it off. After all - he controls his House. He controls his Supreme Court. He's in charge of the largest economy on Earth, and the most powerful military.

What can Ursula von der Leyen promise? What can she do? Who will listen to her?

Maybe you think Zelensky will listen to her? He will not. Even Zelensky wipes his ass with Europe's opinion - instead viewing it as a bank.

Nobody comes to Europe to arbitrate anything. Because it does not know what it wants. Made up of Orbans, Ficos, Tusks, Macrons, Melonis - it has no single position on anything.

Much bark - no teeth.

You can open pipelines - but the buyers of fuel are not states but private business and they are under no obligation to buy North Nigerian oil (or American)

You can drink it for all we care - will make a change from the gut rot vodka

Love it when you do down Europe from your own corrupt turd world train wreck.

And you will get immigrants ? LOL like Derek !

Recent revelations suggest that the reason they went to russia was less about 'traditional values' than escaping the law. Bankruptcy and a rap sheet... no wonder they thought russia would be a good place for them....

he's just improvising towards

Fat chance tho, main reason Obama got one was basically cause he wasn't George W. Bush that was attributed with the Invasion of Iraq and Afganistan. Anyone holding against Obama doesn't understand it was more of a «well done America for choosing to go away from path of war and vengeance! Here is the best award we can offer»

Thinking it was something personal is wrong, which can easily be pointed out.

know what those morons at Stockholm can do.

Your one piece of scumbag, huh?

That's why people talk to them

It is clear that I intended to convey something more nuanced: Russians need validation. In my opinion, there is not much to discuss, as we can only consider the results of such a meeting. Speculating about the future in this case is merely guesswork and a redundant pastime.
I also think that Trump should not be so easily lured into a relationship with Putin. Trump is overconfident and narcissistic; he believes he can make a difference and assumes that the other side operates in a business-like and rational manner. However, nothing could be further from the truth. While Russia may be business-like and rational in its methods, its aims are quite different

While Russia may be business-like and rational in its methods, its aims are quite different

Somebody asked Nixon - "Why do Russians lie?"

Nixon responded, that Russians don't lie, but instead they see all means and methods as forgivable in their struggle for victory.

America wants peace (supposedly) - Russia wants to overcome and conquer.

Why is Russia so confident in maintaining its position - because it genuinely believes in it. Within Russia at least - we are assured of our righteousness.

Only two countries in the world, feel it is their birthright to command all other people's in the manner of organizing their life.

P: ...

Russia ignoring America's proposals - is not a sign of disrespect to America.

Trump's actions, show... that he does understand that this is not a personal affront to him.

We respect America. America is strong.

Russia and America have common interests. When we work together - nobody can stop us.

-//-
If America tries to erase Russia, rest assured that there will also be no America tomorrow.

No more elections to vote in, no more immigrants to complain about, no more budget deficit to resolve....

Not even transgenders to complain about... only death.

Instead everybody burned to a crispy steak.

nstead everybody burned to a crispy steak.

Stop it. I would like to have a well-done steak. But it is Friday.

Not even transgenders to complain about... only death.

In short, doom and glum. Isn't that daily reality for most Russians?

Russia and America have common interests.

Absolutely, to restore the Polish Commonwealth to maintain a balance of power in this part of the world.
