Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 23

Suicide or murder?

The minister learns that Alexei Smirnov, the former governor of the Kursk region who was recently detained for embezzlement in the construction of fortifications in the region, has testified against him. Then he learns that a decision has been made to open a criminal case against him and sees in the news information about Putin's decree to dismiss him. He takes the award gun he was awarded in 2023, gets into his Tesla, drives to the park, goes into the bushes and shoots himself in the temple with his award gun.

The question is, is it murder or suicide?

You know, like Goebbels said - that if you repeat something often enough, and it's outrageous enough - sooner or later some idiot will believe it.

I think you may have Goebbels confused with Lazarus. 🤣

Putin's days are numbered.
His three week "Special Operations" has now killed over a million of his own.
One of those millions Mothers or Fathers will level justice on this mad man.
Putin will live in hiding the rest of his life in fear.

Whatever it is, it's Putin's fault...

Or Trump's...

Who knows...

Good news - Golden Cow has knocked some heads together and resumed arms shipments to Ukraine

Hopefully some of Putler's spies in US government will now be put on trial

murder or suicide?

A;most certainly nurder.

Shooting or the usual poisoning or throwing people from a window, all the same.

Hopefully some of Putler's spies in US government will now be put on trial

The USA and Germany both need to do that.

There was published a photo of a their new girlfrend... For sure, their nu wouldn't be deadly dangerous for everyone. ;) But patient divorced, left family with two kids and start to build a new "nest" for a new gf instead of fortification in Kursk. ;)

Very r*SSian.

So much murder, so much corruption.

No wonder things are going so badly for them.

Golden Cow has knocked some heads together and resumed arms shipments to Ukraine

Good news.

Also about using tariffs as leverage against countries that continue to trade with them.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating Roman Starovoit's death to determine if it was suicide. According to media reports, other possibilities are being considered during the preliminary investigation, including incitement to suicide and murder. All the circumstances are being clarified.

The main theory is that Starovoit's suicide was related to an embezzlement case involving 4 billion rubles (over USD 50M) in the construction of fortifications in the Kursk region. Starovoit had been heading the case until 2024. According to some sources, the former Minister of Transportation knew about impending resignation.

The Investigative Committee of the

Hahahaha.

Incapable of telling the truth. Who would believe them unless they were r*SSian and had to pretend to?

It's a dangerous place, all those open windows and 'presentation pistols'. And exploding private planes like PIGhozhin's.

It's amazing to think that there are pathetic north Nigerians, who will get up, drink some revolting, Nicaraguan coffee, put on a horrible old suit and then go and sit on this fake ass investigative committee for a few hours just so they are not themselves targets for Putler.

It reminds me of the UNNR scum murderer Kalinin who went to sit on committees about fabricated numbers for steel production and grain quotas even while his own wife was being waterboarded in the gulag

Perhaps he cared deeply about the planet's ecology. Eh? On the other hand, being thrifty is not a bad thing, no matter how much money you have.
Also, it wasn't murder or suicide; you misunderstood him; he was training to fly for Mother Russia.

If he wanted to drive a Tesla and be thrifty, he should have stolen $5 million, so nobody would even notice. It would be more than enough for his new family home, and then in three years time he could steal another $5 million and go on living a happy life.

Do I have to teach Russians how to steal? What has the world come to?

If he were some small fry, nobody would hear about him; he was a big fish because he was unable to restrain himself.
It wasn't about the amount he stole; he didn't share enough of his spoils with the right people.

From what I understood in the press - the guy killed himself because of perceived "injustice".

His deputies, and other junior people in his orbit had stolen state funds intended for construction of fortifications in Kursk.

He claimed complete innocence, and true enough - was initially being treated as a witness. Then, Putin unceremoniously fired him, and likely informed him at the same time that he will soon be facing charges of his own.

Betrayed by his thieving underlings, not shown any understanding by his lord, and finally subject to an investigation of which he felt he was innocent - he took the only step a samurai could take in such a situation. His suicide is a mark of shame on his deputies for being thieves and on Putin for showing lack of understanding.

In Ukraine - they envy this Bushido Code of Russian ministers.

They wish that their ministers would also kill themselves.

Putin is doing a good job bringing back the fear of God that we lost when Stalin died.

Instead, Ukranian thieves are being rewarded with ambassadorships and board positions in state companies.

I'm a bit confused - so did the legendary Kursk Shogun steal the $50 million or didn't he?

Yeah how many people in America or Britain would kill themmselves after losing Trump's or Starmer's trust?

Answer is zero.

Your government is some silly reality TV show, with low stakes, and even smaller rewards.

so did the legendary Kursk Shogun steal the $50 million or didn't he?

My working theory is that he did not. And that's why he killed himself.

The guys that DO take - they never kill themselves. Instead they improvise heart attacks and epilepsy in court, and get all sorts of random civilians to write letters in support.

The guys that kill themselves - are more often than not innocent. Because they cannot metabolize the betrayal of the accusation.

Murder.

Your government is

One where yo7 can vote a ruling party out, be sure that a public official you deal with isn't corrupt, one that will not send people to certain death in Ukraine and where if you hear a knock on the door at 6 am, it's probably the milkman.

Or during arrest...

and get all sorts of random civilians to write letters in support.

And even get them to organise protests in support...

The honorary ones do indeed kill themselves...

All those striking similarities between Russia and Poland again assure me that God made a mistake in 1612. Of course, you will reply that he made a mistake in 1920 but all in all a mistake was made... somewhere... by someone.

Only kill yourself when you are realizing your full potential.

Bobko you have been on the pipe this afternoon

This mumbo jumbo is what I might expect from a Siberian shaman

Elect your officials, replace them every few years. Put them in prison if they steal but after a fair trial. Build a system where working hard is the route to getting rich and where every North Nigerian has the same chance.

It worked in Estonia and Latvia - they are not perfect but they started from the same place in 1990

Ukraine wants to join the modern world too. Why not let them ?

Come on - you are a well-educated person.

A samurai never killed himself "under pressure".

It could - very often - be his Daimyo's fault.

The completely blameless samurai would still disembowel himself, to prevent his family (that serves the Daimyo), his Daimyo (who needs to carry on performing his executive functions), and his Shogun from shame.

It is fully acceptable to absorb shame on someone else's behalf, if he promises to feed your wife and children or protect them.

We are never alone. We are always part of some bigger whole: To understand why your life plays no meaning I advise you to read more.

The only thing that matters is your wife and your children and their honor. Your life... is worth zero.

@Bobko

These are, of course, all brilliant points and very well made.

Our powstańcy - like those from November 1830 from the lovely poem recited by Lavrov (see Random Chat) but also in other insurrections and uprisings, had only this one reproach against God: that they die and there is no country to stand up for their families. On the contrary, the victorious occupying power will persecute their families.

That's why Polish Insurgents were more honourable than samurai.

There's no doubt about it. If every insurgent had a samurai sword, they would sell it to the russians and use the money to escape to America.
