Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 18

I am talking clearly about US imports.

And yes it will take them time to replace things. in my own industry high spec production is concentrated in Japan, France and Italy. It would take the US maybe 3 years to build similar facilities.

But as I said little point in arguing with you

Until the 20th century, the US was funded on tariffs, not taxes. It was the best of times in the US.

In a lot of ways, the best time of the US was the Great Compression. Both Trump and I are children of that. It was a time of low immigration and less stratification* and more optimistic rather than pessimistic and some long standing problems were addressed (worker rights and civil rights first and foremost).
Almost everything that the neoliberal era brought was trying to roll back good things about the Great Compression (mexican immigration exploded under Reagan) and create a more divided society (as in our Neo-gilded Age).

One of the arguments against large scaled immigration is that it inevitably increases stratification and if not well-managed can create an underclass were there was none before it.

The implication being that Mexican immigration is somehow worse than Irish or Polish or Italian immigration ?

With Americans, even smart ones, politics always comes back to race at some point

Mexican immigration is somehow worse than Irish or Polish or Italian immigration

Not at all... large scale Irish and Polish and Italian immigration also absolutely increased inequality which is one reason that immigration was drastically reduced in 1921.

Find a place that has large scale immigration without increasing inequality.

Back on topic, it seems the starving North Koreans have left the front line - Kim's idea was that they gained battlefield experience

And indeed they did - getting quickly wiped out by drones, missiles and modern artillery. I genuinely feel sorry for those poor wretches

Interesting....that headline just showed usually good informed german BILD:
(Google translation though)

Kim's soldiers suddenly disappeared

bild.de/politik/ausland-und-internationales/kursk-laesst-er-putin-im-stich-kims-soldaten-ploetzlich-verschwunden-679ce710d72ca12c3499b79d?source=puerto-reco-2_bild-V17.0.D_NewInterestModel

...Ukraine says it believes that North Korean soldiers stationed in the western Russian region of Kursk have been ordered to withdraw.

▶︎ Because: "In the past three weeks, we have not seen or detected any activity or armed clashes with the North Koreans," said the spokesman for the Ukrainian special forces, Colonel Olexander Kindratenko, according to the portal "Ukraijinska Pravda".....

.....

North Korea expert Frederic Spohr, director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in South Korea, explains in BILD: "Whether the North Koreans will actually withdraw has yet to be conclusively assessed. What is clear, however, is that Kim cannot sacrifice too many soldiers in order not to come under domestic political pressure. If the losses are too great, this could lead to him only supplying weapons to Russia."....

Where is YOUR area? Are you anywhere near New Hampshire?

No
I am located about 16 hours West by road from New Hampshire.
Over 1000 miles away. (1600km)
Europeans don't understand how big the United States is

Bring Lenka with

lol! Ask her to come, if she agrees she can come with me.
I'm not going to look for her on the islands.
Then what? - I'm going to kidnap her, take her to the US, and drive 16 hours with her in my boot.
Don't you think it would be a tad too harsh on her?
I'm great but I'm not James Bond or Transporter.
Anyway, it is just under a two-hour flight so it is not so bad but I digress.
I do realize Johnny that your intention behind that invitation was mockery aimed at Novi, I did not take it seriously. I was curious if your location is agreeable which I meant convenient for me in the US. It isn't, it is as out of the way as Chicago.

she can come with me.

She can come by herself with a direct flight right into Detroit.
As untrusting as the poor girl is however, I think that would be a slim chance and slim just left town.

I do realize Johnny that your intention behind that invitation was mockery aimed at Novi,

It was as he has to buy his friends by giving them guns or buying them lunch.
How many times have you heard him desperately use that line, "I will buy lunch or coffee if you will meet with me."
I would still pick up the tab for a night out on the town by chance we ever did meet just because you have always been a friend to me here.
I didn't have to buy you first like Y.K.W.

@Bratwurst Boy

What is clear, however, is that Kim cannot sacrifice too many soldiers in order not to come under domestic political pressure.

Interesting, isn't it? One would assume that Kim could easily afford such losses. I mean what are a few thousand lifes to someone like him? However I've read some time ago that most NK soldiers are in fact needed to literally keep the economy running. Most of them work on fields with simple tools, and NK is always one bad harvest away from a famine. So yeah, losing too many (for NK standards) fit men could become costly in the long run.

large scaled immigration is that it inevitably increases stratification and if not well-managed

You don't manage invasions. You shoot to kill the invading hordes. See Poland.

So yeah, losing too many (for NK standards) fit men could become costly in the long run.

...but not to Ukraine where dying for "freedom, democracy, and corruption" is the most patriotic thing a man can do.

If he refuses, he should be called a surrender boy and shot.

Hey, Tacitus, before you post, always think if it can be used against you.

Dumb *******...

When the US slaps tariff X on German cars, X is a tax on German cars payable by Germany to the US Treasury.

It won't stop Yanks buying German cars, current American cars are crap and Yanks will continue to buy German and Japanese, just as we do in the UK.

I read that the Lexus LS has only sold 3 times in the last year in the UK, which is why Lexus has crossed the LS off its list.

Three reasons:

1. It's not an EV
2. It's not an SUV
3. It's a V8

Meanwhile to get back On - Topic........

Yep. Ukrainians are fighting for these things in a war that has been forced upon them by Russia in their country. NK are sent to die in a war that has nothing to do with them, at the other side of the globe, by a leadership that keeps them at near-starvation levels so that the fat Kim can enjoy his life in luxury.

Novichok own goal, 1000+x.

Another read for all the war supporters. Ukrainian people are not going to leave the west to go back and rebuild. Why would they? They can work earn, save, and not have the burden of trying to do that while also rebuilding in Ukraine. Ukraine women are getting married to westerners and they sure wont be going back. As we reach three years into this war, the prospects for Ukraine are not becoming brighter.

War supporters.....those of you who want Ukraine to keep fighting instead of trying to negotiate. In other words, those of you who support a generation of Ukrainian people being wiped out for the sake of keeping Russia off of Polands doorstep. Thank you for once again showing your true name calling colors. You put the TARD in Retarded.

But Putler has said, this week, very clearly that he won't negotiate with Ukraine's internationally recognized leadership.

North Nigeria clearly wants to continue fighting
