That's a fair point, PMoc. They wanted to haul a*s out of Poland and try sth new. However, I think most underestimated how lonely they would feel away from their families. Poland is a tight-knit society in terms of family values and time abroad means 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' and, perhaps, 'absinthe makes the head forget' ;)
Why Poles have so pro-emigration attitude?
Why can't it be like that in PL?
because notarians in Poland are a corporation - they decide who can join the corporation and who cannot - that same thing was for other lawyers too before in Poland - btw PiS wanted to get rid of corporations among law professionals - it was naturally hated by all these lawyers

It is a global trend ... everyone is emigrating, and if you say the Americans and UK people (or western world) is not, then I would say that they miss the fun.
However I do agree that now Poland needs Poles more than ever to develop, but even then I am pro freedom of choosing to emigrate, and I am also pro those who choose to immigrate to my country. So here you go ... its fare all around.

Often times it would be a 3-4 hour train ride (each way) yet they would still make the trip. Not saying it's bad, it just always made me view Poles as being a bit more dependent on their families than what I'm used to.
Also, Poland is very different from Western Europe which simply adds to the shock value when they move to another country compared to say a German moving to France or Switzerland. The bigger the transition, the less it feels like home?

They tend to be more dependent, yes. Many fell prey to the dictates of the boomerang generation where they return to their families after having left the nest to no effect. Why live in a society that is like a pressure chamber?
An interview with a Poless who left Poland about 12 years ago and moved to South America, currently living in a favela district of Recife in Brazil. She is doing fine and isn`t planning to return.
Translate the long interview on your own, she says interesting things about life in her favela and her job as an owner of a travel agency.
podroze.wprost.pl/miejsca/11668330/julia-zamieszkala-w-brazylijskiej-faweli-nie-teskni-za-polska.html
But here are her reasons for emigration:
You once said in one of your films that you sometimes have nightmares that you are in Poland and you have no money to return from Brazil (laughter). Do you miss Poland at all?
I haven't lived in Poland for 12 years. I do not miss. In Poland, people distance themselves from each other and I see it more and more. Unfortunately, I could`t find my place in this country. I never felt like a patriot in Poland, but here in Brazil I am.
Do you feel that Brazil has changed you? Have you just always felt that you didn't fit in Poland and you finally found your place on Earth?
I think Brazil has definitely changed me a bit, but I think I just found a country that suits my personality. Brazil has the nicest people in all of South America.
What could a Polish person learn from a Brazilian, and what could a Brazilian learn from a Pole?
A Brazilian can learn punctuality and keeping their word, a Polish person could learn a more easy going approach to life and not focusing on problems, but dealing with challenges that enrich our personality. More reconciliation with fate and enjoying what you have at a given moment.

a Poless
Not according to her or the absurd criteria which you gladly apply to Polonia. :)
She doesn't even look Polish. Interestingly the article leaves out her surname even though she claims to run a travel agency. What is she hiding and why?
In Poland, people distance themselves from each other
Obviously she doesn't see the irony (or hypocrisy) of permanently moving to another continent to distance herself from Poles then complains that Poles are too distant from each other.
I see it more and more.
How, when she boasts of not living in Poland for over a decade and never wanting to return?
Translate the long interview on your own
Yeah, because you were too embarrassed by what she actually had to say about living in her Brazilian "utopia" such as:
- "There are shootings, but they are rare. Maybe once or twice a year."
- "I was shocked by the fact that some people earn huge amounts of money while others are starving."
- "Brazil has changed a bit and there are more government programs that support residents...this doesn't change the fact that life is very hard for many people here."
- "People still live in houses made of clay, there are often interruptions in the water supply, or there is no running water at all, especially in the dry season. There is maximum savings - first you wash yourself with water, then you flush the toilet or wash the floor with it."
She is obviously woke too. She literally gives testimony of the negative effects of systemic racial discrimination in Brazil but then denies it exists there "unlike in Poland":
- "There is huge social disintegration...I think there are six or even seven social classes here...Social advancement - is it even possible in Brazil? Practically this is not possible. I understand that these social differences are largely due to slavery, which was not that long ago. However, it should be noted that there is no discrimination, as for example in Poland, where people are sometimes afraid of different skin colors."
If mental gymnastics were an Olympic sport she would win gold without breaking a sweat. :)
She doesn't even look Polish.
Exactly. She is tanned like a Brazilian. :):):)
a Poless Not according to her
She still considers herself one. You just didn`t understand the Polish text. Simple.
I see it more and more.

Because after a decade of her stay in Brazil she realised that she prefers Brazilian attitude to life and other people. You can`t blame her - your ancestors also emigrated to the US or Canada for certain reasons which you have never revealed to us.

To get away from the pleb like you. If you want to live a more fulfilling life and be surrounded by supportive and uplifting individuals, it's essential to distance yourself from negative and toxic people like the ones you mentioned. Sometimes, it's necessary to let go of certain relationships to make room for positive ones and cultivate a healthier and happier environment. Remember, you deserve to be surrounded by people who bring out the best in you and make you feel good about yourself.
- "There are shootings, but they are rare. Maybe once or twice a year."
Yes, it is rare. Shootings in your North American location are much more frequent.
negative effects of systemic racial discrimination in Brazil
Stop twisting in your usual manner. She mentions slavery which produced social differences which haunt Brazil till today. Fair observation on her part.

And what is wrong with this statement? It is true. Some Poles and Polesses reject black skinned people. And you whole-heartedly support that discriminatory attitude.
Remember, you deserve to be surrounded by people who bring out the best in you and make you feel good about yourself.
Exactly!!! That is why you have been attending this forum since 2009 together with me!! And you have absorbed all the education on moral norms I have been trying to instill in you.
Now you feel good about yourself.
And I am so proud of myself now. Thanks. HA!!!
Poles, like other idiots, are for immigration because they never get monthly invoices. Those are hidden in general taxes or inflation. Duh!
When immigrants rape and murder, that data is hidden, too.
Bottom line: What morons say should be ignored,

I already advised it to posters a few days ago.
I only fear that when we all ignore Novi, he will commit a suicide coz this forum is his whole life.
I don`t want such a tragedy to happen.
She is tanned like a Brazilian.
And has eyebrows like Frida Kahlo. :)
She still considers herself one.
Like any chameleon she will change her colors when it suits her needs.
Guaranteed that one day she will say she is more of a Polish patriot than Kościuszko, Pułaski and Piłsudski combined when she hits pension age or needs proper medical attention.
Then and only then will she suddenly become homesick for Poland. :)
Yes, it is rare.
Which country has the most gun deaths?
Brazil has the most gun deaths, according to the most recent statistics from 2019. Brazil had 49,436 gun deaths in 2019.
worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/gun-deaths-by-country
She mentions slavery which produced social differences which haunt Brazil till today. Fair observation on her part.
Black were not indigenous to South America. The only reason Africans were brought to Brazil was slavery. In fact, Brazil alone imported the highest numbers of enslaved Africans. If you think "social differences" aren't a direct result of racism in Brazil then you are as naive as she is.
And what is wrong with this statement?
Like I said she is woke. She falsely states discrimination doesn't exist in Brazil but does in Poland.
She didn't just leave Poland she escaped reality. :)
criteria which you gladly apply to Polonia. :)
If you mean my critical attitude to Polonia whose members are mostly rabid rightists preoccupied with abusing and insulting decent patriotic Poles who still live in Poland proper, then yes - I proudly admit - I use different criteria to you and the Poless like that one above. Coz you are two different kinds of people. Completely.
one day she will say
Are you a witch with a crystal ball and a black cat??? No, you aren`t. So stop trying to tell the future coz you sound silly. I can do it coz we have two black cats. HA|!!! One sitting on m ykepoybo0prd rioght now so I camt type prpoe[prkmjy . Sorry.

But I have standards. So, no thanks.
Thanks. HA!!!
Got you! Aren't you a monkey? I was talking about humans.
If you mean my critical attitude to Polonia whose members are mostly rabid rightists preoccupied with abusing and insulting decent patriotic Poles
You are so wrong and so naive....... are you a communist too?
So, at least you have admitted it at last...... you hate Polonia........unfortunately for you the population of Polonia is quite large.
Great, let's start with you.
A moron (def.) - A person who reads this:

Bottom line: What morons say should be ignored,
...and comments on that:

Poland is full of morons like this. Unfortunately, they are allowed to vote and emigrate.
A Polish woman settled in Maldives after marrying a local guy.
At first she had a big problem with local cuisine coz she hates fish.
What does a Polish woman eat in the Maldives?
A difficult subject. Generally, Maldivian cuisine is the only downside to living here. It's fish on fish, fish with fish and fish under fish in fish sauce. And I don't eat fish...
The beginnings were hard, I would go to bed hungry. Not because there is poverty here, but because nothing tasted good to me. Now it is changing a bit. More products are arriving, even vegetables have appeared, because there were none before. You could only dream of a tomato, and when it arrived, it was green and did not taste like a tomato.
A dish they have done very well is mas huni. The original version is with tuna, I eat it without. It is grated coconut mixed with tuna, onion, lime juice and served with freshly baked roshi, for example. It is delicious, so refreshing, light, and yet you can eat it. For lunch, I eat a salad with chicken.
Thanks to the fact that I have a lot of guests from Poland, someone always drops something off, asks if I miss anything, what I'm missing. My mother comes to visit me once a year, so she always has cabbage rolls and pierogi in her bag. I try to freeze them and when I feel like something, I heat them up. My husband really likes croquettes and pierogi with mushrooms. What I miss the most is regular Polish bread spread with butter, a slice of tomato and a lot of salt.

At McDonald's they probably only have Mc Fish.
only have Mc Fish.
I think I could live in Maldives coz I thrive on anything fishy. :):):):)
However, I would soon miss my fave dishes so in case they were unavailable, I would start making my own pierogis and Polish sausage. With fish.

Don't be a stupid old man.
Firstly, you don't speak the lingo.
Secondly,it would be far too hot for you!

I speak this little English enough to make me go round there. :):):)

The breeze from the ocean would cool me down.
