Trying to buy a used car in Poland. Good idea?

I'm planning to buy a used car in Poland and my budget is around 30k. The problem is that my polish is still in a beginner stage and I'm pretty sure I'll get ripped off by a dealer or a car owner.

Is it better if I buy a car from Germany?because I know some people there.

How much tax do I pay on top of the car cost?
Is there any additional tax when you import a car?

This is a real risk, even for Polish speakers, including those who have lived there all their lives.

Yes. People from Poland often buy used cars abroad rather than within Poland for that reason.

This explains it well.

And I accidentally bought a new car imported from Poland from a dealer not far from us for a really ridiculous price.

It doesn't matter if Poland or Germany - all it matters is the individual / s who owned the car before you. You can check the car's history, but the most important is to go to a car mechanic and check the car before you buy it. Use your phone and put it into an English<>Polish live translation mode so that you could talk in English and hear what the Polish mechanic replies in English too. Regarding the tax, if you live in the EU then it should be the same as if you bought it in your other (I assume also EU) country.

Ron, are you referring to the Smartphone App. "Speak & Translate"
which started gaining popularity after the start of the Ukraine war
with thousands of refugees streaming into Poland, Germany, and France?

In general, not any particular app. Even google translate you can do it these days, ie. speak in Polish and it will output your words aloud in English and vice versa.
