Why Do You Love Poland?

I can't say I "love it "since it is romantic concept til I actually begin living there. I better learn to love it since the long range plans with my betrothed is retiring there.. ^_^ Which is part of reason I am here. To learn more of present poland.

But I did always like archaic history of the region including, Polish history.
I was always *le sigh* as a lil girl over Hussars, specially the Polish Winged Calvary. Sketched historical battles, dinosaurs, puppies, horses, castles and Hussars. Oh and fair maidens. Still do, well not so much puppies and dinosaurs anymore.

And I like the sound of it spoken more than the Boheme I grew up with. So soft. And I certainly love the foods.

My bestest best friend in all the world is 1/2 Polish 1st generation stateside. Been in Germany last 6 years.
My chosen sister for 13 years is Slovak
My second bestest best friend... is gonna marry me and is native.
There is something beyond coincidence in this.

Realistically I am hoping it it is not too humid, I am asthmatic. I hope I find something to do while retired. I'm normally kinda of outdoorsy. This past 2 years is unsual. I don't think it will be Golf. Allergies.. meh. I'll deal. I might get ancy in the winters but Germany and SNOWBOARDING are not far away-WOOOO! I'll miss hunting wild pig, deer and elk. I am sure there are some things I am spoiled with , that I may miss. Product availability, infrastructure EVERYwhere (mostly I am spoiled by fast reliable broadband internet) maybe.

He plans to work up to living in a home that is rural near forests and really wishes to try for off a stream or lake.

It will probably be in a reasonable distance of his hometown of Białystok.

While in the States I'll settle us in an area where his education will do him best.We figure it will be about 5 years to get the padding needed to purchase a suitable place, steady up after the move of such distance as a cushion for as we settle in

I myself am overeducated huntress and not City-oriented, so his plan is fine for me.

After many months in Poland.

Polish winter is always cold for others, Poles are used to it. Heavy wind proof coat and you will be very happy.

Explain your comments about Polish women? They are crazy for men in the west? What do you mean they come with a warning label, do you mean they are clingy overall?

Warszawa has beautiful parks.

I love it because my parents are from Poland and my whole family still lives there.
I visit Poland only once a year and it makes me unbelievably happy to hear polish all around me.
Poland is where my heart is. I am literally craving to go there the whole year....
My polish is good, but I still have a german accent and a limited vocabulary....but I am working on it!
After I finish my studies, I want to move there as soon as I can!

....I start crying every time I think about this...

Been in Poland for a while. 7 years. I hated it at the beginning. Depressing.

But now it's home.

I love the cold winters - always loved crazy weather like in Ireland - great snow, very cold temperature. And I'm from south of France!

You have great beers - AleBrowar, Pinta, Ciechan, Amber, etc... - It's changing so fast since I arrived.

Women are the most beautiful in Europe imho - They are ugly in my country of origin ;-)

I love Pierogis :-)

I like the people.

Plenty of things.

And I don't have the choice. Like I said, it's home now. :D

The other way could apply for you. It's because you were successful with some of them that you find them nice ;-)

Of course there are some nice french women, as there is some ugly polish. But at the end of the end, they don't play in the same league. :D

I love Poland because my beloved family and my roots are there. I love poland not because we have good food or nice buildings( we do actually)but because of our history and our spirit.

There is a sense of freedom and lightness every time I'm in poland, I sense that I am truely at home.
I am a romantic, I love our polish story.
I can feel Poland through music every time I listen to chopin or Michał Oginski polonaise.
I always think of our country side.
In my mind I see our deep green forests, our wide open feilds and our high tatra.
We poles are not perfect, we have fallen and we have made many mistakes.
But what I love about poland the most is that for every 1000 feet we fall, we rise 2000. To me, it is the failures and the pain of poland that has made her great, it is our blood and sweat and tears that have given us our unique spirit. We have survived countless enemies, and we still have our launguage and our faith.

We poles have suffered more than most, we've seen our land split and broken, but through each calamity we pulled together and united in our churches, our traditions and our launguage.

Then on top of this I remember my Babcia, living in Poland. I can see her now working in her small garden picking berries and apples from her plants. I feel her motherly warmth and affection, and I love her and miss her very much.

I just love poland with all of my heart:)

Well yeah, you are right that I don't live in Poland currently I will not deny it.
I have spent a large portion of life in Poland and I know Poland is far from a perfect country, and I said it in what I wrote.

Personal I believe Poland has horrible government and many other problems.
And believe me, I know tons of fellow poles and while most of them are good people, there is plenty of bad as well.
I now the two sides of Poland ( every country has its problems and it's shortcomings)
I put my love for Poland in more poetic and romantic terms because I wanted to high light the things I loved the most. In the end, government and individual people or art culture or food culture don't matter to me because I love Poland in a deep sense.

I love it for its wonderful history and culture, and it is my home, because home is where family is.
Happy talking:)

Polish ppl are scammers, and their country is a hole they are poor asses and come to our western countries and scam things. I think they should all stay in their one hovels that's my Opinion. Plus they smell really bad...and are very UGly Breed.

Based upon my experience in Poland, it seems that the uglier foreign guys are the more fascinated they are with Polish and the like women. Ugly guys from the West have generally no chance in their home countries to find decent local women so they come to Poland and other Eastern countries where a lot of chicks go for just ANYbody as long as the guys are from the West.

I have seen in Poland so many ugly western guys being (married or not) with Polish women and there is NO way they could have found someone decent at home. Western women are much more demanding and a lot of western guys have no choice than to go East to find someone and hence their worship of Polish and the like women because no one at home wants them.. I'm not saying this goes for 100% of the men in couple with Polish women but it concerns however a lof of those western guys. Their only "quality" is being from the west and this attracts a lot of Polish girls/women (especially of course in Polska B). Western women don't usually want to settle with little and that's what such guys have no success in their home countries.... Once Polish girls/women stop being so fascinated by the West, they'll drop these loosers and will go for decent Polish men instead... It's just a matter of time ;)

So what you are saying is that both types of women are so shallow - western women care only about looks and eastern women only about money ?

my own wife is a Pol-Am so probably a bit of both ! unfortunately I have neither looks nor money :)

Normally you write stupid things but this time you are spot on, brilliant!

No, not quite, Eastern European women will not go for just anybody as long as they are from the West. Initially, there will be curiosity, some interest what it would be like with a westerner, the "better" European, so the ugly and stupid man from the West has a greater chance to become acquainted with a pretty, nice and educated Polish woman than her Polish counterpart because of the aura that surrounds westerners, an aura they manufactured themselves, this air of confidence a fake state of competence but it is only "make believe" - a fantasy. this fantasy is what Polish women indulge in but as all fantasies they do not last and so despite the initial interest and advantage the foreign man gains, it disappears quickly once the western "magic" is unraveled. So you may see western men score a lot of dates with Eastern Europeans women but the union does not last long.

I must say I agree too, some of the British guys I met in Poland were seriously 'punching above their weight'.

Actually the reason men from 'the West' do so well in Poland is that the competition is less (does Kasia want a tracksuit-wearing, shaven-headed, Zywiec-swilling oik who thinks that cooking and ironing can only be done by women, or does she want a man who at least appears to know what a mirror is and has a working understanding of irons, cookers and soap? If she wants the later and is from a smaller town, she'd better dress up smart, because there aren't too many of them).

well Harry might have a point, there might be good reasons why Polish girls like the British boys. esp about the shared housework.
What woman wants a relationship that means she is a household servant?

Exactly. And that's just one example of how 'western' women have trained 'western' men to do things which are unusual for Polish women but completely normal for 'western' women. Another would be the way that 'western' women know that both partners can receive and give oral sex and expect their partner to understand the same thing.

I suppose it is just different cultural expectations. I will never forget when I was working in Greece , two Greek girls were telling me laughingly how British men 'looked like pushti' (gay) because their muscles were small and they wore baggy tshirts. While their idea of 'sexy male' was a pumped up guy with a tache and tight t-shirt. which to a British woman's eyes just looks.....well...gay.

I have to agree with you on that one Ktos, she did nail it this time.
A lot of young guys just out of the nest expect their mates to take over where mama left off.
They are looking for a mother to pamper them not a soul mate as an equal.
Same with women just out of the nest, they are looking for a man to pamper their whims just like daddy did.
Problem is that most young guys just starting out don't make that kind of jingle to keep up with daddy.
There are three stages in marriage, first one is love, second one is lust, and the third one is money.
It's what keeps the world spinning.
