Thanks for seeing that, grubas :) He is a troll that posts rubbish. He doesn't even live here. Best ignored as he has no real experience.

Nope, he isn`t. I know Mike from another forum. And he does have experience because he visited Poland twice or at least once. And is vividly interested in Polish culture and the rest.

I think apology is pending, Seanus.

That's not enough to form a rounded perspective, pawian. He throws out wildly general statements, way too assertive. He's like a propaganda machine.

I attempt, as best possible, to fulfil the raison d'etre of PF. It's supposed to be about the good and the bad.

I love Polish bread :) I bought 'noble' bread today, 1kg as the shops will be closed tomorrow. Polish bread can be a tad dry for me but you can tell it is well made and often tastes good if fresh.

Oh, I'm often the first to apologise (esp when playing footie) but this guy doesn't merit it. I hate propaganda and half-spun 'truths', sorry.

So anyway my reasons then.

Poland is great because of the

food [delicious]
pretty girls [most of them]
Catholic values [being Catholic it does mean a lot to me since where I live there are almost none]
language [I like it]
weather [In the summer it is hot and in the winter it is cold, as it should be]

Exactly. Not like in Australia where you celebrate Christmas, wearing bikini costumes.

My parents are Polish born and moved to Australia in 1990.
I have been travelling between Polska and Australia since I was a baby.
I just love the history associated with Krakow, the architecture is absolutely beautiful.
The food there is amazing, there is always something to do, the museums are great too.
Just being there makes me feel so much better and complete!

How some groups treat you as an outsider. The lads all have good words to say about Scots and they are very accommodating. They have a great attitude when on the footie pitch. It's a joy to see such respect.

I love Poland, because everyone there pronounced my beautiful Polish surname correctly. In the United States my last name is always massacred.

Another reason is the ice-cream. Try the chocolate one from Biedronka. It is endorsed by Zielona Budka and is heavenly! It begins with B. Some of the best choc ice-cream I have ever tried and only 10PLN for 900mls.

I love Poland because it has been cast down so many times and still stood up , our culture survived!

Exactly! The Polish spirit is indomitable!

I absolutely love Poland for very many reasons !!

Poland is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in Europe . I've traveled around most of Poland and have seen everything from enchanted emerald forests , breathtaking alp - like mountains , wild flower meadows and golden beaches. I've visited many majestic castles , palaces , churches and medieval towns & cities that blow my mind :) But that is not the only reason why i like Poland , for it's beauty. I especially like this country because I believe that Poland is the most inspiring country in Europe , the people are extremely friendly and hard working and very deep rooted in their beautiful culture , traditions & especially faith . I find Poland to be one of the only places were society has a certain sense of culture and responsibility to one another . In Poland you feel like family with the society , your treated with respect and dignity , you have to work and give your all and that is why I truly love this country . You are not treated like a mindless human , people here really work hard for the pleasures in life . The polish people were able to dig their way out of communism and completely transform there country into what is now a healthy , prosperous society. This country truly is amazing in every aspect , the people , landscapes , architecture , food , medieval architecture ... EVERYTHING ! I've traveled around most of Europe and out of all the countries I have visited I love Poland the most .... not France , not Italy , not Spain , not Switzerland , i love POLAND . I lived here for about 2 months and have never felt more alive and happy . Every morning you wake up you feel motivated and inspired . The air is crisp and clean , you see green fresh landscapes around , there is not much noise , everything is nice and organized , friendly people , superb transportation , safe city and good life quality ( many remodeled and beautifully landscaped apartments )beautiful landscapes , delicious food ... what more can you ask for ??

I love Poland and simply everything about this country and I have honestly thought about moving here in the future.

Poland is greatly improving and is starting to really become a greater tourist destination. I've spoken to many , many people in the states who say they really want to visit Poland !!

I'll be visiting Poland soon , best wishes :)

One of the most beautiful and diverse countries in Europe? Agreed

Extremely friendly and hard working? Some are and some aren't

Sense of responsibility? Yes and no. Not in administrative centres. A fair few are begrudging there but I've been lucky to also receive help from willing ones.

You seem to be describing Protestant work ethics, Allie. Interesting!

The food is amazing? I like most of it but I wouldn't describe it as amazing. Very good for harsh winters and tasty but too plain to be described as amazing.

Silesia is quite dirty but Iit's an exception

I'll be visiting Poland soon ;) ;) I take it you've been here before then!?

I don't understand Allie - do you like Poland or not?

Yes I love Poland and I feel that people should not be stuck in the past . yes , Poland did have a difficult past but the polish people kept their head up throughout all the hardships . Believe it or not Poland is one of the best countries ( in Europe ) to live in right now. A huge chunk of Europe is going through a bad crisis right now , and Poland is the best place to be in right now. Trust me seanus ,Silesia is 100x cleaner than most parts of industrial Germany , France and England . I've visited the karkonosze mountains in Silesia and was taken away by the beauty. I read a history article about Poland and Silesia has hundreds of beautiful castles. Every country in Europe has a rich history with beautiful medieval landmarks.

I find polish food to be very hearty and delicious , but that's just my opinion :)

I can't wait to visit Poland soon and yes i love it !!

It says in your profile that you are based in Kraków, Poland and that you know Polish. What's with that?

If you are visiting then how can you say you are based in Poland?

Allie, how old are you? When I read your prose, makes me think of a modern version of Trybuna Ludu!!

The beauty in parts is staggering. They have refurbished many parts here and the market square is lovely when lit up. It creates a more relaxed atmosphere and adds an element of class.
