Living in Poland after a long time, I wonder why I keep getting asked for these in so many places. Does one receive different treatment depending on who were the parents? How sad to make it so obvious.
Fathers 1st name, and mum's maiden name questions in Poland
It annoys the hell out of me too. This is to protect you, as many people can have the same name/surname and even the same date of birth. Father's name and mother's maiden name will only apply to you. People sometimes ask for their dates and places of birth to make it extra secure that they are dealing with the right person.
