Why there is always around a horrible smell of sweat in Poland

Yes, you are absolutely right, and in rural Africa or rural peasant China, water is very scarce and considered a luxury. However, I've seen poor people in Asia who keep themselves immaculate! They think not to use water after a bowel movement is dirty. I agree with ShellyS above, and I am the same. But, I've lived with different people and seen how they stay clean. You don't need a running shower or a bathtub full of water to stay clean. A wash cloth, soap, and a two bins of water can do the job. And again, I think these guys could benefit from a cheap crystal for deodorant, because it would block odors and their clothing would stay fresh for longer.

Guess it didn't occur to you that "bathing" requires scarce resources that some people might not or can not have or afford.

Did you know that some people on this planet still have to walk a few miles daily to get access to water? That is any water, not just drinking water.

I think we were talking about people in Poland, did you know Poland can have a hot climat too?
You can also bathe in sand...

Why dont they just move closer to the water?

yeah...people in PL bath in piaskownica... hehe...

Why dont they just move closer to the water?

they can't anymore because those who did, caused environmental disasters...

Why dont they just move closer to the water?

For a number of reasons: cause moving requires scarce resources they might not have, cause although they lack water they would still be better off staying where they are due to better security, cause they cant afford to buy new land close to water sources etc..

Under those circumstances I suppose deoderant would be the last thing on their mind.

Because of your picture in your profile, I automatically hear Boycy in my head and the above comment was just like something he would have said...very funny (I know PJ wont find it so, but he's soooooooooooooooo serious)

When PJ is commenting I automatically imagine him standing between Bob Geldof and Chris Martin, perhaps holding a small pot-bellied child.

Come to think of it, my girlfriend also had a slight scent of sweat about her come the end of the day but I found it kinda cute. She wasn't smelly though.

pheromones are what attract us to the opposite sex...what one persons finds sexy another finds just plain stinky ;-)

Nah, she wasn't stinky. Just... well... I suppose I'm tip-toeing around saying she was a bit... well... sweaty. But not in a bad way and not stinky. She worked hard, bless her. She earned her sweat!

lol, i guess it would not matter really if they were all Polish, as none of them would shower for a month, you can't exactly tell the guy next to you he stinks when you yourself haven't had a wash for a month :)

I went to Turkey years ago. Boy, did they stink! Even the waiters smelt of B.O. There was this guy that cleaned the pool daily. He wouldn't leave his balls alone. Contantly scratching the dirty bastard.
