Assalaam o Alaikum!

I am new to this Forum, but glad it exists. I am a Pakistani and considering a Managerial offer by a multinational based in Poznan. I have lived in the USA for my schooling and have spent some time travelling in Europe ( limited to western Europe). I am excited to take the offer and to move to Polad to this permanent position, but I am concerned about my family including english schooling of my children and upbringing. I respect all cultures to my heart. Also, I am myself quite interested in different cultures and get along fine. Can you bring some facts to the lime light some facts that I need to be concerned about prior to moving with family. Also, may you please give me an idea over decent salary structure that may incude saving aspect.

Thanks

You really don't want marauding hoards of Pakistanis' in Poland.

Pakistanis' and Indians' look very similar, but the cult of Islam has turned them into people that hate all things Christian.

Some of the more educated ones are ok on the surface.

And they will try and rip you off.

They create their own ghettos where whites are not welcome. 3 of the 4 London Suicide Bombers were from Pakistan. One of them had a SHRINE built in his home village after he and his Muslim chums killed 52 innocent commuters!!??

Islam. Just say no.

many people in Poland believe Pakistanis are Arabs, because they are Muslims, and all Muslims are Arabs... which is sad, that such ignorance is flourishing in Europe in 21st century.

I know many mixed Polish-Pakistani couples, living happily for years. I know also stories about Pakistani guys who bring shame to Pakistan.

From my personal experience- Pakistanis can be extremely polite. Such politeness is hard to find nowadays. on the other hand, they can be manipulative and over-controlling.

yeah... I am still feeling so sad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is dead :( and that qawwali live concerts are so rare in Poland. Allah hafiz :)

Here's an answer to your question that does not involve rants and a blatant show of lack of intelligence....(i hope)....

I am a Pole living in the States, but I go back to Poland once a year to visit my family. My family lives both in southern Poland near Krakow and in Northeastern Poland near Warszawa. I am a 22 year old Catholic dating a Pakistani Muslim. We have been together for a year and a half and are very happy together. We are pretty much inseparable and plan on getting married.

My family in the States was a bit skeptical at first about him but once they met him and got to know him they quickly welcomed him into our family. My family living in Poland has yet to meet him, but since I have only positive things to say about him they have accepted him as well. No one really cares that he is from Pakistan, the only thing that caused a bit of an upset is that he is not Christian, but that was something all my family members and friends in Poland quickly moved past once I assured them that we both treat each other with the highest respect when it comes to religious differences.

Unfortunately, the most Polish people hear about Pakistan on average is on the news, and that more than likely involves terrorists and war. Thus, the typical Pole will think of an Islamic radical when Pakistan is mentioned, yet are aware that what one sees in teh news is not Truth. For the most part Poles are very open minded and once they see that an individual does not fit the stereotype, they will accept them for who they are as a person and not as an image they have seen in the news. I have personally not met any Poles who think of Pakistanis as "Brudasy" (or dirty people) as someone else here mentioned, but it is an unfortunate fact of life that in every country and culture there are those who are less educated and less open minded. However, if you have the misfortune of every meeting those lowly people in Poland, please just ignore them and know that for the most part, Poles probably won't have a negative image of Pakistani individuals.

Poland is a very diverse country, especially in Krakow and Warszawa, and for the most part Poles are aware that we are ALL brothers and sisters, God loves each and every one of us, and no true Pole would knowingly judge or harm a fellow human being based on nationality or religion. Catholicism is a big part of Polish culture (I'm sure you've noticed) and of course Universality is a very integral part of that. Catholics and Muslims, when all is said and done, still pray to the same God, and we are united in that.

Hello,

i found this forum only recently... I\m wondering if you are still living in Poland...
The attitude towards Pakistanis must be a bit different now than few years ago, before noone ever met any pakistani in their life, now many people travel, especcially to the UK :)

do you speak any Polish by now?

I am married to a Pakistani but we live in Sweden. In fact I am very curious how Pakistanis are welcome in Poland...

What I can say, from my own experience, that lots of Pakistani traditions are very strange to us, but the family relations are something in common (unlike Sweden). The strange things I would put is the culture inspired by the religion... all the pakistanis I met, regardless if they are religious or not (most were not) still do not eat pork nor drink alcohol.

Which is weird to us Poles, if we don't follow something we don't, and we show it.

I'm not sure if the food 'thingy' is sth cultural, religious or rather... a plain fear what the family would say if I demonstrated this or that...

best regards
Aleksandra

This person "Jabwaw" has been so understanding and spoken in such an educated manner, that I find others who tried their best to insult him on the basis of his nationality or race to be nothing more than scums. Just read through all of his posts, and you will definitely see what I am trying to say (if you have eyes).

This is the first time I came across this age old post ... but very impressive.

I know some very nice people from Kashmir (so called terror striken) and they have not only honest but also very intelligent. It depends on which kind of people you welcome in your country, and how well you integrate with them (as well as how well they integrate with you).

Just ranting about integration doesn't work. The government and the people must allow them to get integrated, but being friends and including them in family even. Not those who are mad. For the mad people there can be jail or other measures. Importantly, I am always in favor of bringing in REAL STUDENTS from anywhere in the world (I mean for immigration). Students are flexible, they are intelligent, they get groomed into the host culture very quickly, and they can contribute to the economy in a positive way too.

How should citizenship be given? The student must complete his/her undergrad or graduation in the host country completely, and show genuine interest to work and integrate. None should be allowed to live in their separate communities, and their children must be put into schools predominantly white ... just 10% of them in a class with whites, and the teachers must make them sit separately, with the whites, so that they learn to break the ice.

Depends. If you arent one of those who would justify killing of a Christian minorities in Pakistan...

But I read what you wrote. And I am sure you will be welcomed here. Krakow is a peaceful place and natives are quite nice...

accoriding to wikipedia The origin of Pakistani-Polish relations dates back to 1940 when a number of Polish families migrated to Karachi. Between August 24, 1942 and December 31, 1944 over thirty thousand Polish refugees were lodged in these camps and were settled in Karachi. After independence the of Pakistan, Władysław Turowicz, along with thirty Polish officers and technicians, contributed and assisted in the establishment of the Pakistan Air Force. On 14 August 2006, a memorial was erected in Pakistan Air Force Museum in Karachi to acknowledge the services of the Polish airmen led by Air Commodore Turowicz. Turowicz gained Pakistani nationality and was awarded Pakistan's high civilian awards.[citation needed]

My opinion of Pakistan...

You guys arent using your muscle.

You let the USA treat you like a toy.

They bombard west Pakistan many times and kill hundreds.

And the Pakistan government does nothing.

Kick the Americans out.

If you want it easy say you will launch a nuke if USA wont leave in 1 month.

Also the thing the USA seals pulled in your country is basically illegal. They spy and infiltertrate your country
and you do nothing? Come on.

Dear youngsters,
here is an old woman, a Pakistani mother, thanking Jabwaw for this effort to explain it, and add a couple of things further to understand why Pakistanis do this. Pakistanis are (may be I should say 'were') basically very peaceful and civilized moderate muslim people. It all started in 1980's when US supported by Saudi Arabia invested huge funds to bring extreme islamization in Pakistan to defeat Russia in Afghanistan. It was not easy for US to defeat Russia, the 2nd world power. So this investment included developing of Islamic curriculum for Pakistani and Afghan Muslims, huge funds to Muslim priests (Aalims and Maulvi's) to convert people to Jihad and all.

Having beaten Russia, US left Afghan and Pak in the mess..... today we are bearing the brunt of it.
Saudia is another major donor, in return this extreme religious class grows in size and ensures S.A's protection as well as huge returns/ earnings in Hajj.

So my children it is the game of power and wealth among states, of which my poor nation is paying a price.

Last, but not least, yes, we have been poor people and less educated, so easily fell prey/ victim to this extreme form of religion. Had their been more education on national level and had US not brought 2 decades of army rule in Pakistan by having our national leaders killed (Mr. Bhutto and his daughter), the scene would have been different. After all Bin Laden was a business partner of Mr. Bush and was a Saudi, not Pakistani.

I leave the rest to you to assess and conclude.
Love and peace to all.

POLES IS CONCIDERED RACIST IN UK 2 THOUGH USED WIDELY

Not it is not!! Personal comment removed.

Polak could be interpreted as racist.

As for Pakistani's........

Those who live in the UK are divided into few types.....

The elders, the first generation immigrant who still live by the old values and are as has been described, peaceful. Grateful for the chance to have a chance at life without the struggles they would face at home in their mother country.

Then there are the younger Pakistani (now known as British Pakistani) who can be divided further. Those who follow Islam and live by its teachings and then the majority of the young who are disaffected, violent, have no respect for the law and feel no allegiance to the country of their birth, in fact demonstrate a genuine hate and loathing for Britain. A generation stuck between the the values their parents and grand-parents live by and the western world they live in. Does this in any way excuse the kind of poppy burning episodes we witness? Absolutely not.

The young Brisitsh Pakistani (that very lable is an oxymoron) are the ones who I would gladly show the door.

As for Pakistan and its regime........Pakistan is a genuine threat to world peace and the only reason it hasn't been blown off the face of the planet to present is because it has the fastest growing Nuclear arsenal on the face of the planet.

Instigators and sponsors of the Taliban they perpetuate the war in Afghanistan to prevent Indian influence in Afghanistan.

I am a Paki livin in waw from 3 years and in these 3 years Im not able to figure out what do Poles think of Pakistan.

Therefore please guys give your response to this message as it will enlighten many Paki like me, about what Poles think about us.

looking forward for any response.

There ius a difference between the UK and Poland when talking about Immigrants, when the british brought the Pakistanis into the Uk it was to work, however over the years to follow they abused the system and brought in every member of their family including distant cousins, but hey everyone wants to come to the UK since everything is free? Poland is a Little different, you need to at least work to be able to obtain things like medical and benefits or be a polish national.

People should accept that those who come here are not here to take advantage like they have in other countries since there is NOT a lot to be able to take advantage of.!

You under estimate the workings of an immigrants mind, the ultimate is a European passport. Most Asian and Africans consider Poland a soft country. The UK has tightened up.

Many Poles don't give Pakistan a second thought. That's about all that needs to be said. The last time would have been because Pakistani Taliban lopped off the head of an innocent man in Piotr Stanczak.
