yes you can, first get is translated by a sworn translator, then proof of your stay over 180 days in Poland like visa residence card etc and finally take written test in motor vehicle

Would she only have to take the written test, or the dreaded road test as well? I can't quite recall, is it the road test or the written test (or both) that people fail multiple times?

I got mine withAmerican license and had to only pass a written test( took me twice to pass with a sworn translator...but I heard now test can be in different languages also) and some pals also did same way.Ofcourse the license will be issued till your foriegn license is valid for but after the valid date a medical certificate was required issued by a doctor and a license is issued with no expiry date.

Nope you cannot. You do have to pass the written test.I took a sworn translator for the test.Infact I know someone from India did same but she spoke polish.

Why on earth would Poland give you an EU driving licence purely on the strength of your Pakistani licence? Driving tests from that part of the world are a well-know joke throughout Europe.

A sworn translator is qualified and registered - not just anyone can translate

Jesus! I dont know if any driving school in EU can grant you a driving license. It can only be done by motor vehicle department. What are your intentions?Polish law requires that you pass a written driving test if you are going to stay in Poland over 180 days(legally ofcourse)

To The OP

Various countries have differnet rules concerning driving. If you wish to have a Polish license then you will need to pass the test, if you had an EU driving License then you could possibly do a direct swap, however you have a non-EU license. Your best bet is to spend some time, with a Polish friend, on the main website for driving in Poland and that will give you the exact rules and procedures. Easier to go to the source than a website that will either give you bad information because of vaguely racist tendencies or wrong information from inexperience.

Hello All,

Just for your information there is no any kind of Test required for Pakistani or UAE license they can be easily convert after attestation from origin yes for Indian License its required to have exam.

Best is if you can drive motor bike and car or heavy Vehicle with conversion will be the same to polish license. Isn't good?? :)

But please keep in mind when you are coming to poland please make a international license so you can drive immediately in poland it will be valid for 6 months within EU.

You have to check it yourself, but I believe that you HAVE to pass a Polish driving test which consists of a written part and a practical test. The first thing to do is go and ask at any Driving school in Poland. They would have come across this before.

It may be so that passing the written part is enough when you already have a foreign driving license.

And most people fail the practical test, not the "written" part (actually solved on a computer).

I did this, albeit quite a few years ago. You just have to pass the theoretical part then give them your original driving license. Also a simple medical exam is required (eye check mostly)

There is no way to exchange a license unless you are exchanging from another European Union country. They have cracked down very hard on bribes so just forget it. I just did mine this summer.

You need to order the study material in a language you can understand, study like hell, take a driving course and pass the tests.

You are wrong. There are procedures to exchange the driving license from almost everywhere in the world, but in some cases it is necessary to pass the theoretical part of the Polish driving license exam (so that it is confirmed you know our road signs and all the regulations) - it is so especially in case of the countries with the American-style road signs.

EU doesn't matter here. What, partially, matters, is the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic - but there are some countries which didn't sign it, and the exchange of the license without passing the theoretical exam is possible.
