Hi,

I'm posting this topic because a good friend of mine wanna begin a small shop (local shop with food etc.)
He wanna know what to do more to start everything.

1. Register the shop.
2. Rent/buy a commercial building (and all material)
3. Buying stock.
4. Pay the sales tax etc to the government. (He will let do this by an accountant.)

Is he missing something? Or is this the right things what he have to do?

I have a small business in Warsaw and have had no problems- and I am a foreigner. I did just fire my employee (his goal was to be a rock star, no initiative) and hire somebody else who is quite keen. It is all about trial and error with employees.

It is also all about location. What makes his food shop special as opposed to the 1,000 other food shops in Gdansk.

Business plan and know your market.

Merged: Opening a small shop in Poland - Could you tell me the procedure for it?

Hello sir,
I am from India . I have my own squash product. It is registered too in India . I am also married with polish woman. Sir I want to start small shop in Poland. Can you tell me the procedure for it. What documents I need? How much money it will take? I can speak polish language too. And if you know the procedure for loan. You will inform me? Which place is better for this.

My father make squash ready made in India. But I don't want to sell ready made in Poland. I want to sell squash making with milk or alcohol. Flavor are totally different from other alcohol and squash . I will wait for your reply. Take care sir. :)

Perhaps you should get your wife's agreement to do this in Poland, after all if she was happy to do it then she'd seek this information for you herself directly from the proper bodies and offices, wouldn't she. Remember, marriage is a partnership, a two-way thing, and you have demonstrated that she is not in agreement or otherwise you'd not need the forum, would you Nigel?

Merged: ALKOHOLE 24 H BUSINESS START UP SUGGESTION IN POLAND

Can I have suggestions on, how good a ALKOHOLE 24h shop business in Warsaw or other part of Poland will be? Is that a wise sort of business to start with? What risks are involved? How much of capital will be required to start that in Warsaw? Are there any other better place other than Warsaw to start the same? Your suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Opening a small shop in Poland

Hi everyone

I've recently moved to Poland from the UK with my partner and son. I am English.
Now I am looking at opening a small shop in our local town. I've done some research and looked at competitors and believe it would work well.

Just looking for some advice on the steps I meed to take as a foreigner to register a company and then begin the process of opening the shop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

P.S. I am in the process of learning Polish..

There are a couple posters here who have emigrated to Poland that own businesses now. Im sure they could help you, just keep checking back:)

I have used the phrase people know what I mean

Its probably an American thing then....

Good luck!

to register a company

If you get no help here, it is enough to google: registering a company in Poland. There are a few sites explaining that.
